Washington and Brooklyn rank near the bottom in almost every defensive category this season and with the Nets playing faster than almost any team, the total for this one should be a fine play for your NBA Picks tonight.

  Washington Wizards vs Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets may be one of the worst teams in the NBA, but they have actually played pretty well at home this season. They own a win over the Clippers at home and while they have been blown out plenty at home as well, they are starting to score the ball better in their own building. Brooklyn is averaging 104 points per game at home this season, but they are allowing almost 112 too.

Plus, the Nets’ defense has started to fall apart and I think it’s going to stay that way. Brooklyn has allowed 117 points per game over their last five contests and in that stretch the total has cashed the over in four of those five games.

The Nets are also 13-6 cashing the over this season overall, while the Wizards have cashed the over at 10-8 this season and 6-2 on the road.

Washington has also seen their defense start to collapse lately. They are allowing 110 points per game in their last four overall and they have cashed the over in three of their last four and in seven of their last 10 games.

Even though the Wizards aren’t playing too fast, the Nets have the second-fastest pace in the league right now. At home, they should force the Wizards to play their style. Considering both ranks in the bottom 12 teams in defensive rating, their scoring should be plentiful. They are both also allowing opponents to shoot an effective field goal percentage of 52 percent or higher this year. For my NBA expert pick, I am going to take the Over 218.5.
