With Dwayne Wade looking like the old Dwayne Wade, the Chicago Bulls started the season on a high note beating the Boston Celtics. Today they take on the Indiana Pacers and are a small home favorite in NBA odds, but can the Pacers make this game interesting?

NBA sides record: 1-5Chicago Bulls

In their first game of the year, Chicago scored 105 points while shooting 44% from distance. That was a good win for them to start the season but they were catching Boston off a back to back so I don't want to over-analyze their game. Although they won they still lacked on the defensive end allowing Boston to shoot 50% from the field and 35% from distance. What they did do well was push the tempo getting up 92 attempts compared to Boston's 76 and they benefited from the Celtics having a poor night at the charity stripe making just 15-24. For me out of all the statistics, the most impressive one was the fact they outrebounded Boston 67-44, but surprisingly still got outscored in the paint 42-38. Looking at the matchup tonight I think Chicago will have a pretty tough time against an Indiana team that also opened the season with a win but then struggled yesterday. Unless we see a better defensive effort from Chicago though I believe Indiana has every chance to win this game. Don't look for the Bulls to get 18 offensive rebounds again which currently ranks them first in the league in that category.

 Indiana Pacers

Indiana scored 130 points shooting just over 50% from the field and their overtime win versus Dallas to open the season. Nate McMillan showed us exactly how he expects this team to go as Indiana look to be in a good offensive flow throughout the night versus Dallas, but they were not as sharp versus Brooklyn. Like Chicago, they were efficient in their opener from beyond the arc shooting 52.6% on versus the Mavericks but struggled at around 30% in a loss versus the lowly Nets. Probably the most surprising thing about this matchup is simply the fact that the line is so tight even though the Pacers are coming off a back to back. That was due to the line coming out before their game versus Brooklyn look for this line to move but I still like the Pacers here plus the points.

Indiana Pacers vs Chicago Bulls

Odds makers currently have Indiana is a +3 underdog like at Pinnacle, an A+ rated sportsbook. For my NBA pick, I'm going to back Indiana and try to forget about how poorly they played in the fourth quarter yesterday. The Pacers should bounce back as a match up well with Chicago.
