In game two OKC made a big bounce back game in San Antonio. Can OKC duplicate the formula against the NBA Odds for game three or will Spurs get a much needed road victory?

The NBA odds have come out making the Spurs a -2 favorite like at Bookmaker -110. For one of my NBA picks I will back San Antonio in this spot to come out with the win and take a 2-1 lead in the series. Like OKC did in game two bouncing back I expect the same from the league’s best defensive team.

OKC Thunder
In game two the Thunder shot 48.1% from the field but just 26.3% from distance and won the battle of the glass against the Spurs 56-45. I backed the Thunder in game two much to the chagrin of some people but this is a very talented team with a lot of pride so their bounce back game should have been expected after getting thumped in game one.

Both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook played better also as expected and now that they are playing at home I was a bit surprised by them being the underdog. Still, a couple things to their disadvantage is that the Spurs did not play very well and still almost won the game, as well OKC shot probably about as good from the field as they will for the rest of the series.

Teams don’t normally shoot up towards 48% against the Spurs and expect Popovich and crew will make some adjustments for this game three. The Thunder also got away with 18 turnovers which led to 24 San Antonio points, if that happens again it will be very tough to win this game tonight.

San Antonio Spurs
In game two the Spurs shot 42.6% from the field and 26.1% from distance while getting up 94 attempts. I was a bit surprised by the stats in this game because usually when a team gets up 15 more attempts they win the game, not always but usually. San Antonio simply did not shoot the ball nearly as well in game two as they did in game one but hats off to the Thunder for capitalizing on this aspect.

The Spurs will make adjustments for game three, that is pretty much guaranteed but those changes will probably take place on the defensive end and not be huge in spectrum. Offensively they got what they wanted but simply had an off night so expect them to continue doing what has got them to this point, moving the ball to get them the best open looks. Expect them to get more production outside of Aldridge and for them to have a balanced attack tonight to pull out a hard fought win. Spurs by seven.
