NBA Playoff Prop Picks: Celtics vs. Wizards Game 6

Marcus Smart

Because of the injury to Kawhi Leonard, the other Spurs stepped up, preventing us from another big night of NBA Picks. However, Game 6 is here for the Wizards and Celtics and I am back to punch our winning tickets tonight.

Markieff Morris O/U 12 ½ Points

Role players play better at home and we cashed a big ticket on Avery Bradley’s total points from Bovada two nights ago. Now we are faced with a similar value for Markieff Morris, who has a points total of 12 ½ from Bovada.

Morris was not very effective from the floor against the Hawks, but that is easily understandable. Paul Millsap is one of the best two-way power forwards in the NBA and that matchup was a really tough one for Morris, who racked up five fouls in four straight games in that series.

However, now against the weaker frontcourt of the Celtics, Morris has been much better on the offensive end. He had double-figure points in three straight games before the Wizards got beat down in Game 5, so I’m willing to give him a pass for his nine-point game two nights ago.

However, with the series shifting back to Washington in a win or stay home Game 6, I see Morris, John Wall and the rest of the Wizards having big games tonight. Game 5 should have really woken this team up, so if Morris can stay on the court for 28-35 minutes in this one, I expect him to have 15-plus points.

Wizards Up Against It in Game 6 vs. Celtics Marcus Smart O/U 17 ½ Points, Rebounds, And Assists

Marcus Smart had an impressive performance in Game 5 with a near double-double. He had nine points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in 26 minutes. You can expect his minutes will be higher tonight if the game stays close, however, while Smart is a good rebounder for a guard, I could see his numbers regressing some from a playoff-high 11 for the former Oklahoma State product.

Smart is easily good for nine or 10 points, but his assist and rebound numbers have been somewhat fluky in this series, however, in his last three road playoff games, Smart is averaging just 14.3 points, rebounds, and assists.

Going on the road should hurt Smart’s upside overall and if we can get a night where he is shooting the ball worse than usual, this is a fine under play tonight. Smart is going to be too busy trying to slow down the Wizards; backcourt to worry too much about offense and it might wear him down enough on the road for us to make some cash off it.
