One of the most highly anticipated playoffs in a long time are set to begin this afternoon, and once again there looks to be value in the NBA Odds. I am back with two more NBA Picks for this afternoon and evening, and I think they are both loaded with value.

Bucks vs. Bulls
The Bucks would have been a lot more formidable opponent for the Bulls if Jabari Parker would have stayed healthy and if Brandon Knight was still on the team, however even with a lesser roster than the one they started the season with, the Bucks are going to be good enough to beat the Bulls once or twice in this series. Chicago is still getting their chemistry back after injuries inconsistency have plagued them all season, and tonight the NBA odds  have them as -7 ½ favorites at home against the Bucks, with a total of 184 ½.

While the Chicago Bulls do present some value at -7 ½, the better value might be the total in this one. Even though it’s nearly eight points lower than it opened at 192 points, there is still a chance this one is the lowest scoring game of the weekend. Outside of someone to matchup with Pau Gasol, the Bucks have some good wing defenders to combat Chicago’s guards. On the flip side, Chicago’s defense has improved down the stretch, leading me to think the under could be the play.

In their four meetings this season against one another, the under has cashed in all four occasions, and in three of the games at least one team failed to score 90 points. I could see both teams being below 90 points in this one. The Bulls’ offense is going to still need some time to integrate Derrick Rose back, and their defense is strong enough to limit the offensively limited Bucks. The Bulls limited their opponents to 92 points per game in their last eight games of the season, and the under is 7-3 in their last ten games as home favorites.

NBA Pick: UNDER 184 ½ at 5Dimes.

Check out the Western Conference Quarterfinals Preview

Mavs vs. Rockets
The first Battle of Texas in the 2015 playoffs will be fought between red and blue, north and south, and a little bit of Dirk and James. This series has all the makings of what could be an epic seven games series, or we could see one team take hold from the beginning and dominate. I’m having a hard time figuring out which one of these teams could do that, so even though the NBA Odds have the spread favoring the Rockets at -5, I am laying off the spread.

The total however of 210 ½ is more interesting. While the play on the two Eastern Conference teams above might be the lowest scoring game of the night, the Mavs and Rockets might be the highest. These two teams each have the ability to catch fire and go for 120 in a game, and after being able to rest up for a few days, this may be the game that happens.

The Rockets finished the regular season cashing the over in five of their last six games, and in six games in a row as a home favorite. The Mavs finished the season cashing the over in their last six games in a row, and in all five of their last five road games. Tonight James Harden and Dirk Nowitzki could easily fire the first shots of what could be a fast paced and high scoring Western series, and I want to buy low on the total tonight for my NBA picks before we are looking at 220-point totals in Games 4 and 5.

NBA Pick: OVER 210 ½
