Wednesday night brings a shorter card to the table, as there aren’t as many games this evening as a normal NBA Wednesday. However, I have still found some nice value to present to you, and I am ready to recommend two more NBA Picks for your betting pleasure this evening.
Nuggets vs. Cavs
The Nuggets played last night in Brooklyn and put a beat down on the Nets 111-87. Tonight the Nuggets travel into Cleveland to play the Cavs, and the NBA Odds have the Nuggets as -4 ½ favorites in this one, but I have my eye on the total, which is sitting at 202.
The Cavs have not been a great scoring team to start this season. They are only averaging around 92 points per game this season, but at home, things should improve some. With the Nuggets coming off of the back to back, they should be tired, and what little defense they do play should fall by the wayside tonight. Denver is giving up around 101 points per game both overall and on the road this season, and that should give the Cavs enough room to get close to, if not over 100 points.
The Cavs aren’t without their own defensive woes, and at home this season, they are giving up around 98 points per game. I’m sure the Nuggets can beat that average, and if so, the over should have some very nice value tonight in this early contest.
Since 2012, the Nuggets have cashed the over 58-46 on the second night of a back to back, and I see that trend continuing this evening. Three of the last four meetings between these two from Cleveland have gone over the total as well, and I see another one doing it tonight.
NBA Pick: ‘Over’ 202
Pacers vs. Jazz
After losing to the Blazers on Monday, the Pacers head into Utah tonight to play the Jazz, and the NBA Odds have Indiana as a -8 favorite, with a total of 187 ½. Despite losing on the road to Portland, Utah is a much easier opponent, and with their injury concerns tonight, I think the Pacers are the play.
Marvin Williams and Jeremy Evans are both game time decisions tonight, and although neither are crucial to the Jazz, both provide key minutes off the bench for Ty Corbin. However tonight, with them either less than 100% or missing, I think that will give the Pacers the window they need to cover here. The Jazz have been known to struggle on offense, and with the Pacers strong defense and deep bench, the Jazz will not be able to hang on, even if Williams and Evans play.
The Pacers are only giving up 87 points per game this season, and they are 7-2 ATS in their nine road games this year. I sincerely doubt the Pacers give up more than 90 points here tonight, which would theoretically make them a great value at -8. They shouldn’t be too happy they lost to the Blazers, despite how they have been playing, and I see Indiana getting back on track tonight against the team that I think is the worst in the NBA. -8 is simply not enough, so lay the points for your NBA picks.
