We analyze the NBA Finals from a betting perspective as it moves ahead to Game 6 with the Golden State Warriors back in the front, up 3-2 and on the verge of winning the coveted prize. Can the Cavaliers answer?

Golden State Warriors Win Game 5
The Golden State Warriors capitalize on home advantage in game 5 to take the lead for the first time since the first game of the series. Now they are a game away from winning the NBA Championships and if the NBA odds were any indication, they could pull it off in game 6 in Cleveland.

NBA Odds makers have rolled out a rather significant betting line for game 6 with the Golden State Warriors matched as the road favourites at -185 to win outright and as the 4.5-point road faves against the spread. In fact, they opened with a 4-point spread at the conclusion of Sunday night but early bettors quickly pushed the line up by half-a-point with their overwhelming support of the Warriors.

It'll be interesting to monitor these moves and whether the lines will continue moving up as bettors continue to pound the Warriors or whether they'll be bet down as more money pours into the sports betting pot towards the Cavaliers.

Cavaliers Slip Up
It's been a series all about mirror opposites: the Warriors and Cavs each winning their first home game only to lose the ensuing home game. LeBron James rises to the occasion and steals the show. Then his opposite Stephen Curry does the same and steals the show. Consider the tit-for-tat between this sensational pair as four games were put to bed, it's reasonable to assume that the Cavs will respond in game 6. It's been the nature of this series after all.

As it is, the NBA odds board has the Cavaliers firmly installed as the underdogs at +165 to win outright. The exact same price that they closed on in game 4 at most sports betting shops. They lost that game badly 103-82. Can they carve a different result this time around? Well, they have to. Obviously.

Browse the NBA Finals Prop Betting Options

Must-Win Game For Cavs
The Warriors may be up 3-2, but the series is shifting to Cleveland for game 6 where the Cavaliers will hope to bring the house down in resounding fashion. Just like Stephen Curry brought down Oracle Arena with his 37-point account on Sunday the same is expected of the chosen One. To lead his Cavaliers to the victory and send the series into game 7, delicately poising the pair on the brink of the NBA title.

In fact, he expects it of himself too. When asked about the potential of a game 7 in Oakland, he was quoted at ESPN, saying " I feel confident because I am the best player in the world. " Well, that's gauntlet throwing, isn't it.

Game 5 Betting Verdict
In more ways than one, this NBA series really deserves a decider, a game 7 where everything is left on the line. For the sake of a thrilling showdown, we're going for the Cavs yet again in this series. Granted they let us down with our NBA picks in game 5, but it's time to put up or shut up.

NBA Picks: LeBron James and the Cavs to deliver a win in game 6 at home as the decisive +165 underdogs on the NBA odds board.
