Our NBA handicapping professional shares his top two NBA picks on Wednesday's card. Go inside to give yourself a sizable betting edge in betting these games.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Detroit Pistons 7:35 PM ET
Philadelphia has seen each of their previous four games go over the total. Those contests didn’t exactly surpass the number by a small margin, averaging a combined 232.5 points per game, and covered by a massive cumulative total of 92.0 points. The 76ers have shot a sizzling hot 50.2% during that four game stretch, and they’ve allowed 121 points or more in each of its last three outings. They’ve also converted on a stellar 40.7% of their three point attempts during its last five games. Philadelphia is 4-0 over the total in their last four when playing with no rest, and there was a combined average of 215.0 points scored per game.

Detroit has been in a bit of an offensive slump of late, but most of those instances have occurred on the road. The Pistons have gone 15-6 (62.5%) over the total in its last 21 home games. As a matter of fact, they’re averaging a more than respectable 104.3 points scored per game at home this season. The Pistons are 4-1 over the total in their last five games when facing opponent playing with no rest, and those five outings averaged a combined 212.6 points scored per contest.

These teams have met twice already this season, and each of those contests went over the total. Current NBA odds at Pinnacle clearly provides the most favorable number pertaining to this wager.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 8:05 PM ET
Charlotte has allowed 98 points or less in seven of their last eight games. They’ve gone 7-3 under the total in their previous ten contests, and that includes 5-1 under during away games. The Hornets will be playing in their four consecutive game on the road today. That’s significant, since they’re 11-1 under the total this season following two straight road games. Those twelve contests averaged only a combined 190.8 points scored per game. In their two meetings with Cleveland this season, Charlotte held them to 97 and 95 points respectively.

Due to the recent all star break, each NBA team has played a relatively small amount of games over the past two weeks. Cleveland has gone 10-2 under the total this season when playing six games or less during the previous fourteen days, and there was a combined average of just 188.5 points scored per contest. They’ve also gone 3-0 under the total in its last three outings, and Cleveland allowed 96 points or less in each of those games.

Relative to the current total, I like this game to be a low scoring affair. One of my Wednesday NBA picks will be indicative of that notion.
