As we look at today's large slate of NBA games, a couple of betting totals pop off of the computer screen and I want to put you on the right side where those games are concerned. Let's explorer further as we provide you with our betting picks.

Los Angeles Clippers  vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Westbrook For MVP
I don't care what James Harden has done all season, I don't care about Lebron James' quest for another MVP Award, and I don't care about Stephen Curry's sizzling shooting. Russell Westbrook is currently the best player in the NBA, so think about this when making your NBA picks.

The Thunder are winning and Westbrook's play is simply off the chart, setting records. The man is unstoppable. In his last 10 games, Westbrook is averaging a triple double at 34.3 points, 11.4 assists, and 10.2 rebounds per game. I know that he hasn't won a championship and hasn't accomplished what Lebron James has, but Westbrook is playing the best basketball that I've seen since the days of Michael Jordan.

Westbrook is wreckless and without Kevin Durant in the lineup, this gives him the space to drive the ball to the bucket and convert. I never thought that I would say this, but when Kevin Durant comes back to the lineup, it will be a bad thing for Russell Westbrook. He's a "me first" type of player.

Tonight, Westbrook is playing against a point guard who knows how to play defense in CP3. In previous matchups, Paul has gotten the best of Westbrook. Chris Paul has also had to carry his team, without Blake Griffin in the lineup.

I expect Westbrook to break the chain of poor games against Chris Paul and play well. I also expect Chris Paul to have another one of his double doubles. The only thing that I can't predict is DeAndre Jordan's free throw shooting. Don't expect the "Hack-a-Jordan" in this game. It's not good for the game and coaches such as Gregg Popovich have used it to the extreme. DeAndre Jordan is a very underrated basketball player that plays every game, is a top rebounder, and creates space offensively by setting picks which allows his teammates to get uncontested shots. The over is the play in what should be an exciting game.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Denver Nuggets

Altitude Level Won't be a Problem For Atlanta
We're 63 games into the NBA season and the Atlanta Hawks have clearly proven that their storybook season is no fluke. This isn't a team with a Russell Westbrook on it, but this a group of 5 starters and capable bench players that work well together. The Hawks have been unstoppable and they face a Denver Nuggets team who have been a disappointment. The Nuggets have been so bad the Brian Shaw has been fired. When I look at the Nuggets, I see talent in Ty Lawson, Kenneth Faried, and Wilson Chandler. The rest of the team......not so much.

Blowout Factor

I chose this game because I think the blowout factor will come into play. By the 4th quarter, the Hawks should be in control of this game and their starters will take an early seat.

When this happens, you see a lot of garbage time and the game ends up going under the betting total. That's what's going to happen here. Atlanta is coming off of a 130-105 destruction of the Sacramento Kings while the Nuggets are coming off of a 106-78 victory over the New York Knicks. The Nuggets victory means nothing as everyone beat's up on the worst team in the NBA. Now, they face the best team in the NBA and they might be the team with the 78 points. With these NBA odds, take the under with confidence.
