Find out below, which side we are selecting for our NBA picks this evening.
NBA Picks: T-Wolves vs. Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder (39-15 SU, 17-9-1 ATS home) will welcome in the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves (20-31 SU, 11-13-1 ATS away)) tonight, as they look to snap their current three-game skid (which is the longest for them this season), in a Northwest Division rivalry contest that features two teams heading in different directions.
Tip off in this one will come at 8:00 PM EST from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and can be seen live on television, with local broadcast coverage provided by Fox Sports.
The current NBA odds line on the game, is showing Oklahoma City listed as -13 ½ point favorites, which makes sense given the history between these two teams; and the over/under total is coming in a 205 points, which is also expected given the Thunder’s high-octane offense.
Minnesota enters play tonight having won just three of its last ten games straight up and currently reside in dead last place in the Northwest Division.
They have a zero shot at making the postseason and can only hope that ping pong balls will give them a high lottery pick at this point.
While Minnesota has lost six consecutive games to Oklahoma City SU, they have had great success covering the point spread versus the Thunder, going Oklahoma 6-1 ATS in their last seven matchups.
But, that’s as good as it gets for the T-Wolves, as they are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games played on the road, 8-20 ATS in their last 28 contests versus Western Conference opponents and 5-13-2 ATS in their last 20 games overall.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder come into this matchup on a three-game losing streak, but still own a comfortable first place lead in the Northwest Division, with a 5 ½ game cushion over the Denver Nuggets.
This current three-game skid is the longest of the season for the Thunder – in fact they haven’t dropped four consecutive since they relocated to Oklahoma City prior to the 2008 NBA season.
While OKC is in a bit of a funk, they have bee successful for us bettors, going 7-1 ATS in their last eight games played at home and 6-2 ATS in their last eight following a straight up loss.
Besides beating Minnesota six straight games, the Thunder have also won 12 of 13 and are 10-4-1 ATS against the T-Wolves on their home floor.
Minnesota is over in four of its last six against Western Conference opponents, while also eclipsing the total in 34 of 52 when facing teams inside their own division.
Oklahoma City is over in five of their last six games played at home and four of five versus teams from the West.
In head to head action, the final score has gone over the posted total in four of the last five matchups when meeting in Oklahoma City.
Minnesota is heading for the lottery; while OKC is looking reach the NBA finals once again this season, with a goal of winning it all. This much we know.
For OKC, a home game against a weaker division opponent will be the perfect formula to get them back to their winning ways, as I expect the Thunder to win this game in blowout fashion.
