The Detroit Pistons 10 game losing streak has finally come to an end. Piston’s fans now have something to cheer about, as they look to extend their winning streak tonight when they host Ricky Rubio and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.

The NBA odds makers have opened the Pistons as a 1 point betting favorite and the total according to 5 Dimes Sportsbook is 196. The absence of Kevin Love seems to have put these two teams on a level playing field in the eyes of the odds makers.

Can Detroit gain a little momentum from their much needed win, or can sports bettors find better value by placing their NBA picks elsewhere?

Charlie Villanueva to the Rescue!!!!!

It's very rare that Villanueva receives accolades for something positive, but this is a player that can go on little spurts to help spark his team. Villanueva scored 14 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter against Charlotte while also providing the winning bucket with 15 seconds left to put Detroit back into the "W" column.

On and Off

The Pistons have an above average ball distributor in Jose Calderon. Now, they need Greg Monroe, to start playing consistent basketball. Monroe is the kind of player that will give Detroit a 20 point, 10 rebound game and then deliver a 6 point stinker like the one that he did against Charlotte. He's clearly the best player on his team and needs to be more of a consistent factor.

Brandon Knight is another major source of offense for this team. He's missed the 4 games prior to the victory over the Bobcats and responded with a 10 point, 6 rebound, and 4 assist effort in this game. His presence is mandatory if Detroit expects to win games. This is a weak Pistons offense and Knight is the present and the future of this basketball team.

Detroit can take solace in the fact that Minnesota is just 8-27 on the road this season.

Starting to Fulfill Draft Dreams

I'm talking about the 2nd player taken in the 2012 NBA Draft behind Kyrie Irving. Without Love in the lineup, Williams is finally starting to showcase his talents. He lacks some consistency, but can come up with some huge performances.

Williams is coming off of a 28 point, 5 rebound, 2 steal, and 2 block performance in a loss against Chicago. In the month of March, he's really picked up his game, averaging 16.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Minnesota has many good individual players, and Derrick Williams is right at the top of the list. He would be a great trading tool if he can't mesh with Kevin Love, but time will tell. Look for Williams to play well against Detroit.

Multi-faceted Ball Player

Point guard, Ricky Rubio, has the charisma and the talent to be one of the best point guards in the NBA.

He's never going to score like Russell Westbrook, but Rubio fits more into the Jason Kidd mold of supreme passing ability, rebounding, pocket picking, and scoring when needed. He makes the other players on his team better. Rubio is only going to get better with time.

Minnesota has a bright future, but against Detroit tonight, they still have the talent to give the Pistons fits on the defensive end.

Minnesota is the better basketball team in this game. The two factors that worry me concerning them are their inability to play well on the road and the fact that Detroit finally broke their 10 game losing streak. With Brandon Knight back in the lineup and Detroit at home, I'm going to lean towards Detroit and lay the point.
