The Timberwolves, like their hosts tonight the Denver Nuggets, are winners of three of their last four but who will emerge as the team to bet in NBA odds at the Pepsi Center tonight?

Minnesota Timberwolves (6-3 SU, 7-2 ATS)

Kevin Love dismantled the Cavaliers which led the T-Wolves to a 124-95 win and a cover as eight point favorites in NBA odds in their meeting on Wednesday night. Love is not the only answer to Minnesota’s strong start this season as they have also had solid efforts from Ricky Rubio, Corey Brewer and Kevin Martin. For instance, Rubio is leading the league averaging 3.3 steals while dishing out almost 10 assists per game. Martin is averaging almost 25 PPG, a career best, while Brewer is enjoying a career-best in scoring and shooting percentage.

The Wolves are winning because they are simply too much offensively for most teams. Currently averaging 108.2 points per game and banging the boards to the tune of over 45 rebounds per contest (6th) all the cylinders are clicking. Even defensively they are in the middle of the pack, allowing 99.7 PPG and outpacing the opposition by almost nine points per game.

Denver Nuggets (3-4 SU, 3-4 ATS)

The Nuggets defeated the Lakers 111-99 on Wednesday night and got the narrow cover as 9 ½ point home chalk. Denver has buckled down on defense, surrendering an average of only 90 points in their last two games which is in stark contrast to the 109 PPG they were allowing in their previous four. Ty Lawson is leading the club with over 23 points per game and averaging 7.3 assists. The Nuggets have been beasts on the boards this season, ranking second in the NBA by grabbing 47.6 rebounds per game but will be matched by the impressive rebounding of their opponent tonight.

Wilson Chandler returned to the lineup after missing the first six games with a hamstring injury and contributed 12 points to the winning effort over the Lakers on Wednesday night. Hopefully the six-year man out of DePaul will help the Nuggets to spread the ball around a bit more as they have been mediocre at best in terms of helpers through the year. The big man also picked a pair of steals in his season debut.
[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":247572, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
Free Pick:

The Nuggets are a mere 1-3 ATS this season at home but have played the Timberwolves tough in recent years. Though the Wolves are doing all the right things the Nuggets are starting to stiffen up on defense and will clearly match Minnesota in the rebounding department which will take away that inherent edge that Minny has had all season against inferior rebounding opponents. Although I like the contributions Minnesota has had from their key players as well as the peripheral contributors I think Denver matches up well.

We will take the one lonely point in our NBA picks that the oddsmakers are giving us and back the Nuggets as they win this one outright and send the visitors home with a loss.

NBA Pick: Denver +1 at
