Will the Kings and their hot home trends hold up here or can the T-Wolves steal a cover in “Sac-town?” Where are we looking to place our sports picks in this matchup?

The Sacramento Kings have notched a 7-2 spread record in their nine four home dates, scorching foes for 115.8 PPG. Thursday’s NBA slate has Keith Smart’s squad hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are 1-5 ATS in their last six road contests.

Kings, Cousins surge by Clippers

Sacramento picked up its third win in five games with Tuesday’s 116-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, pulling off the upset as an 8 ½-point home dog. The Kings connected from their floor at a 50.7 percent clip, including a stellar 14-for-28 mark beyond the arc.

Kings center DeMarcus Cousins piled in 17 points and 11 boards, logging his third straight double-double in a return from his recent thigh injury. Sacramento’s Marcus Thornton and Toney Douglas united for 44 points and 11 assists off the bench, hitting a combined 9-for-9 from the foul line.

The battle’s 217 points jumped above the ‘total’ of 212, lifting the OVER to 4-1 in the Kings’ last five games. Cousins added two of his side’s eight steals, while Sacramento outscored Los Angeles in the fourth quarter, 38-18.

T-Wolves downed in Memphis

Minnesota logged its eighth straight road loss in Monday’s 92-77 defeat as a 12 ½-point underdog against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Timberwolves were held to 33.7 percent field shooting, while outscored in paint points, 50-28.

T-Wolves rookie Alexey Shved notched a team-high 12 points, while his squad’s five starters were held to single-digit figures. Shved’s bench mates Mickael Gelabale and Greg Stiemsma grabbed seven boards each, while combining for five steals.

The duel’s 169 points dipped beneath the ‘total’ of 183, moving the UNDER to 7-2 in the Timberwolves’ last nine matchups. Minnesota trailed by as many as 25 points, while edged out in rebounds, 49-45.

Back the Kings as home ‘chalk’

The NBA odds makers at opened Sacramento as a five-point home favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 211 ½. Early wagers on the Kings and OVER drove the numbers north to six and 212, respectively.

I am tailing the ‘steam,’ adding a ticket on Sacramento to my night of sports picks. The Kings have had momentum leading into the season’s final stretch, while Minnesota has shown signs of packing it in.

DeMarcus Cousins remains one of the Western Conference’s top six rebounders (10 RPG), while knocking down floor buckets at a 25-for-35 clip in his last three games. Cousins and Co. have ranked in the league’s top 10 clubs for scoring (99.7 PPG), while shooting 46.6 percent from the field at home.

Minnesota has given up 101.7 PPG on the road, allowing foes to connect field buckets at a sizable 49.4 percent. Rick Aldeman’s club has not had the octane to make up for the lack of stinginess, held to 89.6 PPG in their last seven road matchups.

Sacramento has a 6-2 spread record in the last eight meetings it has hosted against the Timberwolves, while Minnesota is 3-13-1 in its last 17 road games against squads with winning records. Look for these trends to hold up again, with the Kings getting the money in a double-digit win.
