Kevin Love and the Timberwolves are playing great basketball to start the season. Will they be good enough to topple Chris Paul's Clippers in LA tonight? Find out where we've decided to place our money.

Odds Overview

As good as Minnesota has been, the NBA odds list them as 6.5-point dogs for this visit of L.A. Both teams are 5-2 ATS so far this season.

These are two highly potent offenses when they get going, so it's no shock to see a total of 207.5. However, if you do like the UNDER, you can shop around the various sportsbooks and find as high of a number as 208.5.

Minnesota Timberwolves

After dropping two in a row (at Cleveland and home to Golden State), the Timberwolves have responded by beating Dallas 116-108 and then crushing the LA Lakers 113-90 at the Staples Center.

To be honest, the final score wasn't even in line with how dominant Minnesota was last night. They raced out to a ridiculous 47-23 lead after one quarter and were leading by 29 at one point.

The usual suspects, Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and Kevin Martin, were all phenomenal once again. Rubio had a triple-double, posting 12 points, 14 assists, 10 rebounds and five steals in 38 minutes of action. Love hit four threes en-route to 25 points and added 13 rebounds, while Martin was 11-of-23 for a game-high 27 points.

Love showcased to the LA faithful what the city could possibly have one day. He's been terrific so far this year, averaging 26.9 PPG, 14.4 RPG and 4.7 APG.

But it's Martin's arrival that has really taken the Timberwolves' offense to the next level. He's shooting an insane 57.1 percent from three thus far and has been good for 23.9 PPG through seven games.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers will have had an extra day of rest, as they've been off since Saturday's 107-94 road win over Houston. It was L.A's second win over the Rockets this season.

Having covered the spread in five of their last six matchups, L.A. has been a money-making machine for those that have been backing them.

Against Houston, numerous players stepped up. Chris Paul had his customary double-double (14 points and 13 assists), but Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and J.J. Redick were outstanding as well.

Griffin had 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go along with seven boards, while Jordan was a monster in the paint, gobbling up 18 boards while also scoring 12 points and blocking three shots. Redick had 22 points, five rebounds and four steals in the winning effort.

The Clippers have been right up there (#2) in terms of offensive efficiency, but they still have a lot of work to do on the other end of the floor. They're ranked #29 in defensive efficiency heading into tonight's game.

NBA Pick

We love what the Timberwolves have been doing, but they are likely to meet their match tonight.

That being said, we just don't feel comfortable enough on either side to suggest a play on the spread. So, we'll focus our attention towards the total and put our faith in the OVER to cash.

As we noted, these offenses are fantastic. Paul and Rubio know how to create and we should see a lot of easy buckets put on the board here.

Minnesota is ranked tops in the NBA in PACE through seven games, while Los Angeles is also ranked in the top ten in possessions used per game. We'll be adding the OVER to our NBA picks to round out our NBA coverage.

NBA Pick: OVER 207.5
