Will the Clippers continue piling it on here, or will the Timberwolves’ visit bring down the octane? Find out where the best value lies for your NBA picks in this matchup.

The Los Angeles Clippers have put up 104 PPG in their last eight contests, with the OVER cashing at 7-1. Vinny Del Negro’s club finishes a four-game homestand with Wednesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have had UNDER tickets collect at a 6-1 mark in their last seven road dates.

Take a look at our predictions for the First Round Playoff Matchups.

Clippers, Paul surge past Lakers

Sunday’s NBA action saw the Clippers pick up their second straight victory, cashing as 4 ½-point home ‘chalk’ in a 109-95 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Clippers guard Chris Paul logged his third double-double in five games, finishing with 24 points and 12 assists.

Paul’s starting mates Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan united for 25 rebounds, while combining to knock down 10-of-23 floor buckets. Clippers veteran Jamal Crawford led his squad’s bench scoring with 20 points in 31 minutes of action, hitting a perfect 6-for-6 mark from the foul line.

The matchup’s 204 points leaped OVER the ‘total’ of 199, with the Clippers outrebounding the Lakers, 50-36. Paul added three of his side’s six steals, while center Ryan Hollins logged the team’s sole block.

Timberwolves downed in Oakland

Minnesota picked up its second loss in three games with Tuesday’s 105-89 defeat to the Golden State Warriors, failing to collect as a seven-point road dog. The Timberwolves were held to 36.7 percent field shooting, while edged out in boards by a 60-44 margin.

Timberwolves forward Andrei Kirilenko was his club’s sole starter to reach double figures, hitting 4-of-7 from the floor en route to 15 points. Minnesota’s Greg Stiemsma grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while adding two of his squad’s six blocks.

The contest’s 194 points dipped UNDER the ‘total’ of 204, despite the Timberwolves sinking 16-of-20 free throws. Minnesota’s Chase Budinger and Jose Barea united to drain 5-of-11 buckets from three-point land, finishing with a combined 30 points off the bench.

Back the UNDER in L.A.

The NBA odds makers at opened the Clippers as 10 ½-point home favorites, while first setting the ‘total’ at 199 ½. Early wagers on the ‘chalk’ and OVER lifted the numbers to 11 and 201, respectively.

I am adding the UNDER in this duel to Wednesday’s NBA picks, looking for scoring to stay tight between these rivals. The UNDER is 4-1 in the last five meetings between the foes, with the sole OVER ticket of the span cashing by just one bucket.

November’s duel at Staples Center saw the Timberwolves held to 37.8 percent shooting even with Kevin Love still in the team’s lineup. January’s pair of matchups in Minnesota saw the clubs combine for 176.5 PPG, plunging below the ‘total’ in both encounters.

The UNDER is 9-3 in Minnesota’s last 12 contests against Western Conference foes, while cashing at a 6-1 clip in spots that followed the team’s last seven defeats by 10 points or more. Look for UNDER backers to collect again here, adding to the wager’s 4-0 mark in Los Angeles’ last four games against clubs with losing records.
