It’s only a two-game night in the NBA tonight as the league prepares for All Star Weekend, however even with only two games tonight, there is still some value. Let’s parlay together our two NBA Picks tonight in order to allow for more potential value on a short card.
Brooklyn had to play last night at home, and now they head into Chicago for a date with the Bulls right before the All Star Break. The NBA Odds have the Bulls as -3 ½ favorites tonight, but I am a bit more interested with the total, which sits at 183 points. With the Nets playing last night and then having to travel, their defense is likely not going to be at its’ peak tonight. Chicago has struggled to score at times this season, but they dropped 100 points against the Hawks the other night, and they could get close to that many points scored tonight.
The Bulls have scored, or given up 100 points in three of their last four games, and both of these teams look tired heading into the All Star Break. Although the total went under the first time these teams met this season, the over has cashed in four of the last five meetings between these teams, which includes games from last year’s playoffs.
Brooklyn has been playing well recently and has scored an average of 100 points per game in their last five games. Even though Brooklyn’s scoring has been better, this season they are still giving up over 101 points per game on the road. These teams don’t have to have huge nights for the total to go over. A final score 0f 93-91 would be enough, and I think before the break these teams’ defenses won’t be at its’ peak.
The late game tonight will feature the Lakers playing host to the Thunder, and with how banged up LA is, the Thunder are huge -11 ½ road favorites tonight. With the very inflated spread, the total once again seems like a better wager, and the NBA Odds have it right at 205 points.
The Lakers’ defense has been nowhere to be found this season, and with all of the injuries, they are going to be once again dealing with a short bench tonight. Steve Nash doesn’t look like he will play tonight after irritating his injury from the beginning of the season. This leaves the Lakers with only eight healthy players tonight. A short bench is going to really hurt the Lakers’ defense even more, and going against the Thunder might make it worse still.
The Lakers have given up an average of 105 points per game in their last five games, and against the West this season, LA has given up 107 points per game. Assuming this is the Thunder’s floor tonight, I once again love a wager on the total. OKC could easily get to 110 points tonight, and if the game is a blow out, this also helps a wager on the over. I’m looking for a final score of about 109-99, which would be more than enough for the over to cash for our NBA picks.
