The NBA Odds for the first game were late coming out due to an injury to a very important player, and with information still coming out, let’s take advantage of the current valuable NBA Odds.
These were the tardy NBA Odds, however their reason for being so is very valid. Tony Parker left last night’s game in Washington DC with an injury and did not return to the game. He has already been ruled out for tonight’s game, and even after Patty Mills’ great game in his place, it’s going to be hard to stay with the Nets after playing in double overtime yesterday.
Another big factor for this game that is kind of going unnoticed by some, and it’s the potential that Tim Duncan doesn’t play tonight. In yesterday’s overtime game, Duncan logged heavy minutes, and on the second night of a back to back, I bet Greg Popovich rests his big man as well, considering everyone else is out already and their chances of winning with him are still slim.
That would potentially make the Nets a great value at -5, and I am laying the points for the first leg of my parlay. Even though they haven’t been great ATS recently, winning only two of their last six games ATS, they should have no problem taking down the depleted and tired Spurs who might just be down three starters and their 6th man. The Spurs are only 2-4 ATS in their last six games as well, and despite playing well last night, I think they throw this one in the sake of health, and give new commissioner, Adam Silver something to fine them for.
The Bulls are another team that has been hurt by injury this season, and the NBA Odds have them as +8 ½ underdogs out in California tonight. The Warriors are really trying to gain elite status this season, but games like this are the ones they have to win. The Bulls are a stepping-stone to a championship fight, and if the Warriors want to prove their worth, beating a team like the Bulls is one of those steps.
They weren’t able to do it last season as the Bulls swept the season series against the Warriors both SU and ATS, and even though Chicago has been up and down this season, they tend to play better against the good teams this season. +8 ½ is too many points for a defensive stalwart like the Bulls, and I see them keeping it close enough to cover tonight.
The Warriors are only 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games, and the Warriors are only 2-4 ATS this season when playing an Eastern Conference team at home. The Bulls are undervalued in this game and with how well their defense plays, even on the road, they should be able to limit the Warriors. As long as they slow down Stephen Curry enough, they will cover.
My Pick: 2-team parlay: Nets -5 & Bulls +8 ½
