The Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets have split their first two series meetings this year, while each contest has gone OVER the total. Where do we recommend bettors look when it comes to placing their NBA picks on the total?

Let’s take a closer look at this Western Conference matchup from a NBA betting perspective, with the opening tip scheduled 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Back on track

Oklahoma City has won three games in a row since suffering through its longest losing streak of the 2012-13 season, as it comes off a 119-74 blowout victory over the New Orleans Hornets as 14.5-point home favorites Wednesday night.

The Thunder are 5-0 straight up (SU) and against the NBA odds (ATS) after posting a victory by 30 or more points the last two-plus seasons, while the UNDER is 3-2 in that situation.

Playing solid basketball

Denver has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the calendar turned to 2013, as it enters this affair on a three-game winning streak, including a 111-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers as two-point road favorites Wednesday night.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the Nuggets are 19-10 SU and 16-13 ATS in March, which is important to consider when making your sports picks in this high-profile affair.

Durant and Westbrook

NBA handicappers love backing offensive-minded teams, which is why the Thunder will draw plenty of action in this matchup, especially with forward Kevin Durant and point guard Russell Westbrook on the floor.

Oklahoma City’s dynamic duo is combining to average 51.7 points per game, which is just slightly higher than its 51.6 mark a year ago.  Durant and Westbrook are averaging 65.0 points together in their last five meetings with the Nuggets.

Home-court advantage

Without question, the Nuggets enjoy one of the better home-court advantages around the league, as they enter with a 24-3 overall mark at this venue.  It’s important to note that the road team has gone 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in this series, while the UNDER is on a 4-1-1 run when these two rivals meet up in the Mile High City.

As mentioned in my video when covering this game, I believe that NBA oddsmakers will sent out a betting total of 210 or higher in this affair, especially with both teams scoring a ton of points since the All-Star break.

I don’t recommend wagering on the betting total if the number comes out lower than that.
