It's win or go home for the Thunder, who will be going full force in Minnesota tonight. Let's see where the NBA odds are taking us for this Western Conference battle.

Odds Overview
NBA odds makers aren't expecting much trouble for the Thunder tonight, despite them being on the road. Indeed, the major sportsbooks have Oklahoma City favored by a whopping 13.5 to 14 points.

A total had yet to have been made public at time of writing, but we can expect a high number considering both teams like to play at a high pace and the Timberwolves don't seem to care about playing defense at all.

Minnesota Timberwolves
At 16-65, the Timberwolves have endured a terrible season from a performance standpoint, and no one will deny that. Injuries haven't helped at all, especially to key guys like Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic, but Minnesota has been in tank mode for a while now as they prepare to give it a better go next season.

Why the reason for optimism? There are some good young talents on this roster, and it all starts with Andrew Wiggins, who has lived up the billing and met those lofty expectations that come with being the number one pick. He has been playing heavy minutes each and every game and has clearly improved his game, so Minnesota has to be excited about adding yet another high draft pick to the mix alongside the talented rookie.

As far as recent showings go, the Timberwolves have been a punching bag for the rest of the NBA, having lost 11 straight games ahead of tonight's date with Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. Needless to say, tonight does not bode well for their chances of ending this losing run.

Oklahoma City Thunder
It's do or die for the Thunder right now, who need a win and also a little help to squeak in as the eighth seed in the Western Conference. They are currently one game back of New Orleans, but a win for Oklahoma City and a loss for the Pelicans would mean Westbrook and company would claim the spot. The good news for the Thunder? New Orleans will be taking on the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, so it's not going to be easy for them.

Of course, the Thunder could have locked up the eighth seed a while back, but they have struggled to close out the regular season. They've gone just 3-7 over their last 10 games overall, and that's why they find themselves in this predicament.

The poor results have come despite Westbrook's continued amazing play. He is carrying this Oklahoma City team on his back night in and night out and will need to have one more big showing tonight to give the Thunder a chance. They'll be anxiously awaiting the result between San Antonio and New Orleans, but they need to take care of business themselves and we expect them to do just that in Minnesota.

NBA Pick
At this point in the season, it's all about motivation.

The Thunder have every reason to go all out and wrap this game up as early as they can, whereas the Timberwolves have been content with losing all season long - why is that going to change now? Oklahoma City knows that a win and a Pelicans loss would see them make the postseason, so you better believe they're going to come out focused.

It also helps that they're simply the far more talented team overall, even with Kevin Durant on the sidelines. We don't anticipate the Thunder having much trouble scooting past the Timberwolves here, and Westbrook should be able to flirt with another triple double on the way to a blowout win and ATS cover for the road team, so back them with your NBA picks.
