We've been on a little bit of a roll with our NBA picks of the day series and will be hopeful of keeping it going tonight. Where's the value?

Seven more games are on the schedule for Tuesday night, giving us plenty of opportunities to exploit the NBA odds and come up with a couple winning picks. There aren't a ton of weak spots in the lines this evening, but let's see if we can locate a couple.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Dallas Mavericks
Things couldn't have gone worse for the Pelicans so far this season, as they've STILL yet to win a game and are wallowing away with a 0-6 record ahead of tonight's home game with Dallas.

Current odds have New Orleans favored by two points at home despite the rough start, with the total up at a very high number of 210.5 points.

The Pelicans desperately need a pick-me-up in the worst way, as they still search for their first taste of victory in the 2015-16 season. They've been doing just fine offensively, ranking tenth in scoring offense (102.7 PPG), but they've been one of the NBA's worst defensive teams in the early going, having surrendered 114.7 points per game leading into tonight's contest. That being, Anthony Davis continues to play at a high level, averaging 25.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks a game, and he figures to have his way with the Mavericks' weak interior defense in this spot.

As for Dallas, they're not off to the best start either, as they've gone 3-3 through their first six games. Once the Mavericks have everyone back at full strength and playing their full complement of minutes, we expect them to fare much better, but that's going to take some time. As such, we're hesitant to back them for now.

With Holiday likely to be back and Davis starting to show his most dominant self, we like the Pelicans' chances of pulling off their first win of the season. It doesn't hurt that Dallas has been extra cautious as they work a couple of their starters (Parsons and Williams) back into the mix. So, we have no qualms backing a desperate New Orleans squad at this very small number tonight.

Washington Wizards vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
This should be a great game, as Kevin Durant visits his hometown to do battle with John Wall and the Wizards.

Washington has been very inconsistent to start the season, having gone 3-3 thus far. They're not getting much love from oddsmakers tonight, as the Wizards are five-points underdogs despite being on their home floor. Once again, we see a high O/U on the board, with the number currently listed at 218.5 points.

Durant will be eager to make his presence felt this evening, and don't forget about the essentially unstoppable Russell Westbrook either. What a great matchup that will be up against Wall, who's going to have to play lights out basketball to keep his team competitive.

We recommend tracking the status of Bradley Beal, who's questionable to play because of a shoulder bruise, but even if he sits, we think the OVER has a good chance of hitting. These two teams are both ranked in the top eight in PACE, which measures the number of possessions used by a team per game; the Wizards are second (104.9) and the Thunder are eighth (102.0) coming into tonight, so we should be seeing a high tempo throughout this game.

With both squads also in the bottom half of the league in defensive efficiency, this matchup sets up nicely for a high-scoring game, so we won't back down from the large O/U on the NBA odds board. We're on the OVER in the nation's capital tonight as our NBA pick.
