We split a pair of NBA Picks on a short-slated Thursday evening last night, and now here we are again with a large Friday slate of NBA Odds in front of us. Let's make it count!

Bulls vs. Celtics
The Bulls and Celtics are set to hook up for the third time this season at TD Garden tonight, and the Celtics come in as a -3 favorite, with a total of 206½. Chicago is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Warriors two nights ago, and while a lot of the blame should go to Fred Hoiberg for trying to get fancy with his rotations during the game, I doubt he makes the same mistake twice. Tonight should be a hard-fought game like the other two matchups, but with the way that both teams are playing defense right now, the total might be a better wager than the spread.

Since it opened the number has been pushed from 204 to 206½, and considering the Bulls record of cashing the over on the road this season, I am following the recent trends and going over as well. Chicago has cashed the over in 11 of their 17 road games this season, and while Boston has been better cashing the over on the road, they are still 6-1 in their last seven games over cashing the over.

A big reason for this has been their defense, which is slowly regressing back to the mean after a hot start this year. In their last five games the Celtics have given up an average of almost 110 points per game, and in their last three games they have given up at least 115 points.

The Bulls on the other hand have not been much better. The over has now cashed in six of the last seven games for the Bulls as well, and it’s cashed in all five of their last five road games. On top of that, the over has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams dating back to last season, and the over has cashed in their last four meetings in a row in Boston.

Thunder vs. Mavericks
Another matchup I have my eye on tonight is the Mavs playing host to the Thunder. We tried to bet the over on these two teams’ most recent meeting, however the Mavs put up a stinker, which ruined it. However, tonight the NBA Odds are once again favorable for an over bet between these two teams, with the spread favoring OKC by -6 on the road, and the total sitting at 206½ as well, I am leaning towards a higher scoring game.

While Dallas wasn’t able to score in their last meeting in OKC, at home this season has been a different story. The Mavs average 104 points per game when playing at home this season, and as long as Dirk Nowitzki is set to play tonight, the Mavs shouldn’t have much trouble scoring the ball. Nowitzki sat out the Mavs most recent game along with Raymond Felton, but that was against the Wolves, and the Mavs were once again coming off a tough game that went into overtime a few nights before against the Celtics. There has been a pattern with games that Dirk sits out, and they all seem to come after the Mavs play in OT the game before. Even though he is still listed as questionable, I have a feeling he is going to play tonight for the home crowd in Dallas. As long as he does play, I am locking in the over.

The over has now cashed in five of the last seven times these two teams have played, and if you take away the most recent game, they had a streak of three straight games going over dating back to about a year ago. While both teams have been much better cashing the under this season, my gut is telling me this is going to be a higher scoring affair tonight for my NBA picks.
