After cashing my last four NBA Picks in a row, let’s see if we can parlay together two games from this short slate of NBA Odds. So follow along as I release my NBA Picks at no cost to you!
Clippers vs. Cavs
The first time these two met up, the game was a run and gun masterpiece that ended with a final score of 126-121. Both teams played admirably, but in the end the Cavs came away with the win a few weeks ago. However now they face one another from Cleveland, and the NBA Odds have the Cavs as -5 favorites, with a total of 206 ½. After their first meeting, I’m not sure why this total isn’t any higher, and it’s one of the many reasons I am taking the over tonight once again.
While the Cavs have actually cashed the under much more than the over this season against the Western Conference, with the Clippers’ weaknesses on their wing defense, and with the recent surge in scoring from the Cavs, I doubt that trends means much. A lot of that came from earlier in the season. However the Cavs are still 3-4 cashing the over in their last seven games against the West.
As a road team this season the Clippers are 12-9 cashing the over, and the over is 9-1-1 for LA in their last 11 games as road underdogs between +1 and +4 ½. Overall the over has cashed for the Clippers in 16 of their last 22 games as a road underdog. Look for another fast paced game, and for this lower total to go over for our parlay.
Suns vs. Blazers
The Blazers have been smoke and mirrors all season. Against the East they are 18-6 SU on the season, but against the West they are only 15-10 SU, and only 3-8 SU against the teams that are currently in the playoffs in the West. One of those teams is the Phoenix Suns, who have had some good success against the Blazers in the past. However the NBA Odds have the Blazers as -4 ½ home favorites in this one, with the largest total of the evening at 211. While I have been on totals recently the underdog in this one is a NBA pick too good to ignore.
Not only have the Blazers been bad against good teams this season, but they have not been great recently either. Even though they just got back Robin Lopez, which should help a lot, they are struggling ATS. The Blazers are 0-4 ATS in their last four in a row, they are 0-5 ATS in their last five as home favorites, and they are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games overall.
Although the Suns haven’t been great ATS recently, they should be able to go small and keep the Blazers from having Lopez out on the floor too long. If that’s the case, the Blazers will have no rim protection to speak of, and the Suns guards will feast in this one. Damian Lillard is a great player, and I’m sure he is pissed for not making the All Star team, but he alone will be no match for the trio of Phoenix ball handlers. The Suns are 8-1 ATS in their last nine meetings with the Blazers dating back to late in the 2011-2012 season, and the Blazers are 2-7 SU in those nine games. Take the points here.
