Thanks to the Mavericks and Cavaliers going into overtime last night, we kept our hot streak alive yesterday by cashing two of our three NBA Picks. Now at 4-1 on the young week, let’s keep it going.

Bucks vs. Wizards
The Milwaukee Bucks beat the slumping Chicago Bulls last night at home, and then they had to get on a plane and travel all the way to Washington, DC to play the Wizards here on Wednesday evening. The NBA Odds come into this one favoring Washington at -6, with a total of 206½ points. While the Bucks looked like the Bucks team from last season against Chicago, the Bulls tend to bring out the best in the Bucks, and after that win last night, Milwaukee might be due for a let down, especially on the defensive end.

One of the big problems for the Bucks this season has been on defense. They are giving up nearly 104 points per game this season, and on the road they get even worse on defense giving up 106 points per game.

That being said, and considering the Bucks are 5-4 cashing the over on the second night of a back to back, you have a nice recipe for the over to be the play in this one. The Bucks are also giving up more than 108 points per game in their last ten contests, and they have given up at least 100 points in nine of their last 11 games.

The Wizards are still dealing with some injuries that could affect their defense tonight, namely to Marcin Gortat, who had to miss the Wizards most recent game. Considering he had to be admitted to the hospital to deal with a possible infection in his swollen knee, I sincerely doubt he plays tonight. That could lead to the Wizards having a weak frontcourt again tonight, and against the lengthy Bucks that could spell disaster for their defense as well. Washington is also giving up close to 104 points per game this season. With the over cashing in four of the last five times these two teams have played, including twice already this season, look for the over to be the play once again.

Knicks vs. Nets
Another Eastern Conference battle tonight looks like it could hold some value as the battle of the boroughs tips off from the Barclays Center. Right now the NBA Odds have the Knicks as -3 favorites on the road in this one, but considering the game is really a home game for both teams, I don’t put too much stock in the Nets being slight home dogs in this one. While Brooklyn gave the Spurs all they could handle in three quarters the other night, they could not hold on to the cover during the final quarter of that game. The Knicks on the other hand played a tough game last night against the Celtics, and while we made some money on the total on that one, I am looking to the Knicks once again to cash us a winning ticket.

New York is 5-3 ATS this season when playing on the second night of a back to back, and considering they played last night at MSG, they did not have to travel after the game, which makes the back to back a lot less brutal. The Nets have now dropped their last five games ATS and SU, and it seems like the Celtics are about to get a shot at the number one overall pick this season because of how bad the Nets have been.

That being said, without Jarrett Jack the Nets have looked lost on offense. In their last four games, the Nets are averaging less than 80 points per game, and even though I tend to scoff at people who like to say that college basketball teams could beat a bad NBA team, a team like Kansas might be able to give the Nets a run for their money.

While they have only played once this season, the Knicks have covered their last three games in a row against the Nets, and they even won one of those games last season when New York was clearly the worst team in the NBA. Brooklyn has lost their last five games in a row ATS at home, so lay the three with New York tonight as your NBA pick.
