We’ve hit a bit of a late-season slump, however my NBA Picks are still profitable on the season. Now we head into a short-slated Tuesday to get back on the horse tonight with two more Picks from tonight’s NBA Odds.
Grizzlies vs. Pistons
Memphis is hurting a little bit right now without their point guard, Mike Conley, however they have still been playing good basketball. The Pistons on the other hand are fully healthy, and they have not been playing very good basketball. So tonight, the NBA odds have the Grizzlies as -4 road favorites in this one, with a total of 185 points.
Detroit has been free falling after it looked like they were finally turning things around. At one point they looked poised to take over the 8th playoff seed in the East, however now they have lost ten games in a row SU, and they are a full seven games back of the playoffs in the East.
Tonight against Memphis, the battle between the big men in this one should be interesting, and with the Grizzlies coming off the back-to-back last night, it should be an interesting one. Memphis is only 8-8 ATS when coming off the back-to-back, but with the way they have handled the Pistons so far this season, I see them covering the -4 here tonight.
Detroit is only 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, and even though they did cover their last game, they are still only 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS win. Memphis hasn’t been great overall ATS recently going 3-9 ATS in their last 12, but even with Conley likely still out tonight thanks to his ankle, I see the Grizzlies taking care of business tonight.
NBA Pick: Grizzlies -4
Magic vs. Rockets
While Dwight Howard is still a week or two away from making his return to the Rockets after undergoing in-season knee surgery, the Rockets are going to have to make due on defense without him. On the season the Rockets have had a ton of trouble stopping opposing centers when Howard is not on the floor, and they are going to have another really tough matchup tonight with Nikola Vucevic and the Magic coming to town. The NBA Odds do have the Rockets as -11 favorites, but I'm focusing my NBA pick on the total of 203 ½.
With how fast Houston plays, this one should be a good play for the over. Not only are the Magic likely going to stay in this game with the matchup problems they present to Houston, but also the Rockets’ offense should have no problem shredding the Magic defense, even without Howard.
The Magic’s defense was looking better earlier in the second half, however since the month of March hit, the Magic defense has gone completely out the window. They are giving up 106 points per game in the month of March, and if the Rockets can get close to, or above that point, the over is going to be easy money tonight.
The over is 5-2 in the Magic’s last seven games overall, and while long term the Magic are still trending with the under, this total is too low for the pace and defense that should be played here tonight.
