After splitting a pair of NBA Picks yesterday on a crazy slate of games, I am back once again to try and get two winners in my NBA Best bets for Sunday evening.

Mavericks vs. Spurs
The Mavs have been hard-pressed to score the ball recently, and if you take away their overtime game against the Cavs last week, their offense has taken a turn for the worse in their last four games. They dropped 107 points in that overtime lost to the defending Eastern Conference champs, however in their four games sandwiched around that thrilling game, the Mavs are only averaging 90 points per game.

Going up against the best defensive team in the NBA tonight might lead you to believe that the under could be the play. The Spurs have allowed a stunning 89 points per game this season, and with the way the Mavs are struggling on offense recently, the first instinct is to bet the under.

However, despite their stout defense limiting opponents this season, recently the Spurs have been a better play on the over. San Antonio has cashed the over in five of their last seven games, and at home they have been even better. On the year they cash the over only at 12-11 at home, however they have cashed the over in nine of their last 13 games at home this season after starting off the year at 3-7 cashing above the total at home. The Spurs are scoring about 105 points per game at home this season, and with the NBA odds boards for this game at only 194½, the over looks like a pretty good play if the Mavs can get into the mid 90s.

While neither one of these teams have been great at cashing the over in their divisional games this season, the Spurs have been stellar on offense recently, averaging over 111 points per game in their last eight games, and they have cashed the over in five of those eight games. It may go against the way the total has moved, but I am staying with the over and hoping for a higher scoring game.

Pacers vs. Nuggets
Before the NBA odds came out this morning, there was some slight concern that Paul George might not be able to play in this one, but according to the most recent reports, George seems like he is good to go in Denver tonight. We correctly nailed the Heat beating the Nuggets two nights ago after the Nuggets surprised everyone and beat the Warriors, but now against the Pacers, the Nuggets come in as a +2½ home underdog with a total of 202 points.

While the under might be a good NBA pick in this one, considering it’s cashed in 12 of the last 18 overall for the Pacers, I am instead backing Indiana in this one. The Nuggets’ win against the Warriors was likely a one hit wonder, and with Jusuf Nurkic still likely out for this one, the Pacers might actually have the advantage in the frontcourt tonight, which almost never happens when it comes to the Pacers. The Pacers have not been great on the road this season, but they are still above .500 ATS at 11-10 this season away from Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and they have slowly been getting better on the road against the West winning their last two games SU and ATS versus the other conference.

The Nuggets on the other hand are only 1-3-1 ATS playing at home against the East this season, and they are giving up 104 points per game at home this season. The Nuggets are only 6-11-2 ATS this season when playing at home, and coming off correctly calling the Heat covering in Denver a few nights ago, I am going back to fading the Nuggets at home against the East.
