We were one point away from cashing a pair of NBA Picks last night, but the gambling gods saw fit to make us push once again. However I have once again found two NBA Picks that look like great value.
Pacers vs. Nets
Both of these teams still have playoff illusions in the Eastern Conference this season, and this game will go a very long way in deciding who gets they eight seed. The Nets are currently tied for the final playoff spot with the Celtics, however Boston has one fewer loss so the Nets are currently on the outside looking in. However a win tonight would change that, and I’m sure at home the Nets will be fired up and ready to play.
On the other side you have the Pacers, who are only a half game back of the Nets and Celtics, and they too would love to have this game to significantly boost their playoff chances. However only one team can win, and it should be a contested game. But is the spread something we should be looking at this late in the season?
Right now the NBA odds have the Nets as -3 favorites, however there are some sportsbooks that have the line as a PK still. With this kind of discrepancy, the spread is way off limits for me tonight. However the total is not, which is sitting at just under two hundred points at 199. The under could have some very good value if both of these teams bring their defense tonight. With it being such an important game, I don’t see how they can’t bring their defenses.
The under is 5-2 in the Nets last seven home games versus a team with a road record of 40% or worse, and the under has cashed in five of the Nets last six games on a Tuesday this season. On the other side the Pacers have been cashing the over more recently, but in this style of game, I can’t help but think that this one is going to be a defensive struggle for the final playoff spot.
My NBA Pick: UNDER 199 at The Greek
Spurs vs. Heat
There are some strange things going on with these NBA Odds this morning, but strange for the better. Right now, even though it is far from settled, you can get the Spurs as a -7 favorite in this game on the road in Miami. No one from San Antonio looks hurt, and neither team played last night. It could be a big trap, but with all of the questionable bodies for the Heat right now, it might be smart to jump on the Spurs here early on Tuesday morning.
Right now, Luol Deng, Michael Beasley, Hassan Whiteside and Chris Anderson are all questionable for this game, and Shabazz Napier is doubtful. Plus both of these teams need a win to keep pace in their respective conferences playoff races. However with Miami potentially playing with only eight or nine guys tonight, I am going to take the defending champs ten times out of then there.
San Antonio is 5-1 ATS in their last six games as favorites, and they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. While they haven’t been great as road favorites recently, the Heat might be too banged up to even compete tonight. The Spurs have enough on the defensive end to stop Dwyane Wade if he is the only true starter on the floor for the Heat. Add San Antonio to your NBA picks tonight.
