For the first time in playoffs, I lost 2 NBA Picks on one night. I'm still 15-7, but we need to do some work to regain our previous profit margin. I think I have 2 plays from the NBA Odds to do that.

Nets vs. Hawks
Despite losing Games 3 and 4 to the Nets in Brooklyn to tie the series, the Hawks are still -9 NBA odds favorites at home in their pivotal Game 5 against the Nets. The total for this one is sitting right at 200 points, and by all accounts this one should be good. The Hawks have faltered over the last two nights, and if they lose here, they are in serious danger of losing the series, as it would shift back to Brooklyn. However as tempted as I am to take the points with the Nets here, it might be a little risky. This team has played inconsistently all season, and that’s one of the reasons why I am off the spread.

However the total of 200 points might present some value to get us back on track this Wednesday evening. Game 4 of this series was a little fluky as we missed out on the total in that one, however overtime and bad Hawks defense led to the Nets taking that game. However in the previous three games, the under was more than a solid play, it was perfect. Now with a total back to 200 points, it looks like doubling down on the under tonight might be the way to go.

These two teams have averaged 92 and 91 points against one another in the first three games of the series, and in this pivotal Game 5, defense will be the name of the game. The under is now 5-1 in the Hawks last six first round playoff games, and the under is 4-1 in their last five home games dating back to the regular season.

My Pick: UNDER 200 at 5Dimes

Blazers vs. Grizzlies
Memphis could not outlast the Blazers in Game 4, and while missing their starting point guard, they could not overcome the Blazers on the road. They will once again be without Mike Conley tonight, but the NBA Odds still have the Grizzlies as -5 ½ home favorites. I went into the absence of Conley a little bit two nights ago, but simply put without him on the floor, it makes the offense for the Grizzlies falter some. Even though Nick Calathes and Beno Udrih played well, if only the Grizzlies could combine Calathes’ defense with Udrih’s offense, and they would have something close to Conley.

However even without him tonight, I think heading back to the Grind House on Beale Street will be enough for the Grizzlies to cover -5 1/2. Dating back to the regular season, the Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS following a SU loss, and they are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as favorites. To top that off, they’re still 6-1 ATS in their last seven games, and they are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 first round playoff games. The Blazers on the other hand are 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 first round playoff games, and they have lost ATS in their last six road games. Add Memphis to your NBA picks this Wednesday.

My Pick: Grizzlies -5 ½ at BetOnline
