After splitting a pair of NBA picks yesterday thanks to our first game going into overtime, I am feeling god about tonight’s NBA odds, and I have found two more totals.

Nets vs. Pacers
The Nets are fighting hard this season but to no avail, as bad trades and poor management decisions have left this team almost surely in the lottery once again. That’s good news for the Boston Celtics who own their pick, and who will once again be cheering for the Pacers tonight. The NBA odds have the Pacers as huge -10½ favorites in this one, but I have my eye on a much more valuable wager on this game, the total of 205½.

While the Pacers’ defense has slipped up some recently, it’s been mostly against Western Conference opponents. On the season, Indiana is only giving up 93.7 points per game to conference opponents, and with the Pacers going back home, and the lowly Nets coming into town, I see Indiana ramping back up the defense to stifle the Nets here. Brooklyn has been one of the worst offensive teams in the league so far this season, and with the under cashing in eight of their 12 road games this season, I see the under cashing again here tonight.

The under is also 8-4 for the Pacers this season when playing at home, and recently the the under has cashed in three of the last four overall for the Pacers, and in three of the last four for the Nets as well. We are reaching the point in the season where defense is starting to catch up to offense, and high totals like this one can be exploited for a winning NBA pick with the right two teams. The under has cashed in four of the last five home games for the Pacers this season, and dating back to last season, the under is 11-5 in the last 16 road games for the Nets.

Pelicans vs. Suns
The Pelicans may be the biggest disappointment in the NBA this season, because after making a nice run to the playoffs last season, they have regressed more than any other team in the NBA. Tonight they have the pleasure of playing the Suns for the third time this season, and the NBA odds have the Suns as -3½ favorites, with a total of 213. The first two times these two teams played one another this season, the over easily cashed in both with final scores of 122-116 and 120-114, and while it may seem slightly square to chase those scores, I could easily see another game where both teams easily get above the 110 mark.

The Pelicans have the worst defensive efficiency in the NBA at 108.4, and with the Suns playing at the third fastest pace in the league behind only the Kings and Warriors, there are going to be plenty of shot opportunities for the Suns once again in this one. New Orleans has been pretty bad at cashing the over on the road this season, but with the Suns’ defense not playing too well recently, I think they’ll be able to counter that. One of their only two road over cashes was against the Suns this season.

Phoenix is giving up 107 points per game in their last ten contests, and against the West this season they are giving up 106 per game. With no one to defend Anthony Davis, I could see the Pels having a nice game offensively here, and I could also see the over being the play.
