It was another solid day of NBA Picks on Sunday, but with only two games on Monday evening, we need to be diligent in finding the best value. I think I have found it for Monday, so follow along as I release what will hopefully be two more winning NBA Picks.
Bucks vs. Bulls
The Chicago Bulls played almost an outstanding game against the Bucks in Game 1. If it wasn’t for all of their turnovers and sub-par transition defense, the Bulls played a perfect game. Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler looked outstanding, Pau Gasol was once again an automatic double double, and the Bulls assisted on 30 of their 38 made field goals. Simply put, the Bulls out-classed the Bucks in Game 1, but the sportsbooks haven’t taken notice in their spread for Game 2.
The NBA odds have the Bulls as -7 ½ favorites in this Monday night showdown, with a total of 188. While I have no doubt the Bulls can cover this double-digit spread, I am going back to the total well for Game 2, even though the Bulls outstanding offense in Game 1 burned our under play.
If it wasn’t for a 60-51 first half, the under probably would have cashed in Game 1. The Bulls and Bucks only scored 83 total points in the second half, and only 33 points in the final quarter. I see them continuing their play from late in the third, heading into the fourth quarter from Game 1. While it really doesn’t follow the trends set forth by some of their last regular season games, the under has still cashed in four of the last five meetings between these two teams. I’m trying it again tonight.
NBA Pick: UNDER 188
Pelicans vs. Warriors
New Orleans made a late run in Game 1 to cover the spread, even after getting blown out of the building for most of the game. This could lead to some momentum for them heading into Game 2, but the opening NBA Odds had the Warriors as -11 favorites tonight, with a total of 204 1/2. There have been significant swings in the betting odds, however. New Orleans showed that they can hang with the Warriors if they play good enough defense, and they found out that no matter what is going on, no one on the Warriors can stop Anthony Davis.
However tonight after that 106-99 game on Saturday, I see the total as another good wager tonight. The total of 205 pushed for Game 1, but I don’t think the Pelicans will start as slow as they did in Game 1. New Orleans got to 99 points against the Warriors even after only scoring 13 points in the first quarter. Their playoff jitters should be out of them by now, and I think the Warriors will continue to score with relative ease.
The over is now 3-1-1 in the Warriors last five games, and the over is 9-2-1 in their last 12 games as home favorites. I see another fast paced game, and as long as New Orleans can score more than 13 points in the first quarter tonight, the over should cash this time so take with your NBA picks.
NBA Pick: OVER 204 ½
