After splitting a pair of NBA Picks yesterday evening on Sunday’s short slate, Monday brings about a wealth of different options in the NBA Odds. I have once again found a couple of plays that look solid.

Clippers vs. Wizards
Blake Griffin is down and out for the next few weeks and the Clippers are going to have to find ways to get some offense without their go-to guy on the floor. Tonight they are Washington DC to play the Wizards, and the NBA Odds actually favor the Wizards at home by -1½, with a total of 206½. Being without Griffin will worsen this team, but it won’t worsen them enough to justify them being +1½ underdogs to one of the more disappointing teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards are still without Bradley Beal and a couple of other big men, and even without Griffin to contend with tonight, the Wizards will still have to keep DeAndre Jordan off the glass, which is a tall (no pun intended) order. Marcin Gortat has been playing very well recently, but he will be no match for Jordan tonight on the offensive and defensive boards.

Washington is giving up nearly 105 points per game this season in their new up pace style, and while it has generally helped their Offensive Efficiency, it has killed their defense. Against the West for instance, Washington is giving up 108 points per game. While LA might not have a big offensive explosion tonight against the smaller Wizards front line, I expect Chris Paul to help slow down John Wall some, and I see the Clippers coming away with the win and/or cover. Washington has been playing better winning their last four games in a row SU, but none of those opponents compare to the Clippers, even without Griffin, add L.A. to your NBA picks tonight.

Bucks vs. Mavericks
Two teams that the book is still out on meet up tonight in Dallas, as the Mavericks and Bucks do battle on a Monday evening. With all of the severe weather down in Dallas, keep en eye on the news for this game to make sure it’s still going to be played, but as long as it is, the NBA odds seem pretty valuable this time around. Right now the sportsbooks have the Mavs as -6½ favorites, but I am much more focused on the total of 199 points.

While the Mavs continue to play well in a Western Conference that is much worse than people originally thought going into the season, the Bucks are playing badly in the East where everyone seems to have improved but them. Milwaukee’s defense has been the biggest cause for concern amongst the Milwaukee fans, as they have been one of the worst defense teams in the NBA this season. However, what makes them troubling to handicap is their defense could turn on any game. However, for tonight’s game I think the Bucks will have at least some trouble guarding the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, and if that’s the case the over could have some nice value.

Deron Williams is still looking questionable for this game with an ankle injury, and if he is forced to miss again, the pace might quicken some with JJ Barea running most of the point guard duties for the Mavs. Dallas plays at the 16th fastest pace in the league right now, but if we can hey Barea to start again, the over looks like a nice value. The Mavs are already giving up over 104 points per game to Eastern Conference teams this season, and the over is 4-2 in the Bucks’ last six games, and 4-1 in these two teams last five meetings.
