As we head into the final weekend regular season Saturday, and while there aren’t too many NBA Odds to choose from, there is still some value to be had on this short slate.

Suns vs. Pelicans
While there are not any playoff implications for this game, that could mean that the players will play a little more loosely than, if the game actually meant something. This can usually be good for the over. Even though these two teams are two of the most injured teams heading down the last week of the season, their injuries might end up forcing them to play faster, which could definitely lead to the over being a good play tonight.

The Pelicans have been a different team playing at home this season than on the road, and that includes their recent home games. That being said, the NBA Odds still have the Pelicans as +1 ½ home dogs in this one, with a total of 209 points. While taking the point and a half with the home team intrigues me, the total is looking like a better wager.

Despite the Pelicans being only 3-13-1 this season cashing the over on the second night of aback to back, the Suns’ defense and pace is going to help them a lot with that.

Plus, not all back to backs are made equal. The Pelicans have had very few games where they play at home on no rest, and they are 2-2 cashing the over in those games. The Suns on the other hand were on a terrible under cashing streak before their most recent game against the Rockets, but they also played some really tough or slower teams during that stretch. Phoenix is giving up close to 110 points per game on the road, while the Pelicans are giving up 106 at home. With nothing to play for, defense will be at a minimum tonight.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883648, "sportsbooksIds":[93,1096,169,999996,180,139], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
NBA Pick: Suns Over 209 -105
Best Line Offered: at Heritage

Celtics vs. Hawks
While the Suns and Pelicans game means nothing to the playoffs, this game means a lot to it. The Celtics are coming off a win last night against the Bucks, and now they head into Atlanta for a game that will go a long way in deciding which one of these teams gets home court advantage in the first round. The NBA Odds have the Hawks as -5½ favorites, with a total that is mostly 207, but a few books have the line at 203½. This tells me the sharps are split on this one, and it also tells me there could be some value in the total.

However, the first half total is what I am more intrigued by. At only 97 points, the first half total is yelling at me to take the over. Boston is scoring the ball with great efficiency recently, and on the road this season they are scoring and giving up about 50 points per first half. The Hawks on the other hand are also scoring about 50 points per first half at home, while giving up close to 49.

However, in Boston’s last five games, those numbers have jumped to nearly 56 points per first half, and with them coming off the back to back, it looks like the first half total is ripe for the over. In the Celtics’ last five games playing on no rest dating back to February, they average first half total was over 116 points, and in none of them did a team fail to get less than 50 points.

These two teams have played three times this year, but only once in Atlanta. In that game, the first half score was 57-48, and I think we see a similar first half with the Celtics coming in on no rest, so we'll take them as our NBA Pick on this game.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883649, "sportsbooksIds":[93,1096,169,999996,180,139], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
NBA Pick: 1H Hawks Over 98½ -105
Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker
