It’s a stacked Friday of NBA Picks here on Christmas Day, and with five games on the NBA Odds boards all throughout the day, there are plenty of chances to make some value happen here on the holidays. I have two valuable NBA Picks for Christmas Day, and I’m 8-3 in my last 11 NBA Picks this week already!

Pelicans vs. Heat
While it’s the first game on the slate with a start time of noon eastern time, the Pelicans and Heat still hold some of the better value of the day. The NBA Odds have the Heat as -6 favorites here at home, with a total of 200 points, and while I am tempted to lay the points with the undervalued Heat, the better wager in this one might be the total of 200 points.

This season, the Heat have been one of the slower paced and better defensive teams in the league because of it, and going up against the Pelicans shouldn’t stop that. While they will have to worry about stopping Anthony Davis, the Heat don’t have many other concerns on the Pelicans other than AD and Tyreke Evans. Plus, at 19-8 cashing the under this season, and cashing the under at 11-7 at home, I am banking on defense and a slower paced game to cash us the under for your first Christmas Day NBA pick.

NBA players do not like getting up early for games, and a noon start time in Miami is just that. If you want an easy trend to follow this season for profit, just bet the under on any game that starts before 6 PM eastern time. In games that start in the afternoon this season, the under is 15-7, and it was a great bet last season as well. For some reason, early start times make scores lower in most instances, and this game could be a great example of that.

One the season, the Pelicans have also been horrendous on the road, and it has led to them cashing the under at 13-3 in their 16 road games this season. The under has also cashed in four of the last six games overall for New Orleans, and in seven of their last eight road games. Take the under, and look for neither team to cross the 100-point mark.

My NBA Pick: UNDER 200

Betting Trends to Get the Most Out of Your Christmas Day NBA Picks

Cavaliers vs. Warriors
The biggest of all the Christmas Day games is an NBA Finals rematch between the Cavaliers and Warriors. The early NBA Odds here on Christmas Eve have the Dubs as -7 favorites, with a total of 212 points. However, this one is simple as well, because much like the above game, this one starts at 5 PM eastern, and more importantly, 2 PM west coast time.

These two teams cashed the under at 3-2-1 in their six Finals games against one another last season, and in some of them, the under cashed easily with both teams failing to get above 100 points. It’s one of the best defenses against the best offense in this game, but the early start and the high total of 212 makes me think the under is once again a nice sneaky value play. Golden State has been better cashing the under at home this season, while the Cavs are 7-5 cashing the under this season on the road. As I mentioned above, the under is 15-7 in early afternoon starts already this year, and for the Warriors dating back to last season, the under is 15-8 in their last 23 home games.

On the other side, the Cavs’ defense has been stepping up as of late, averaging only around 92 points per game allowed in their last ten contests. All of this considered, I think the Christmas Day game is going to bring out the best of these two teams on defense, so once again, cheer for a lower scoring game on Christmas.

My Pick: UNDER 212
