It’s a big Monday of NBA action and after splitting a pair of NBA Picks once again last night, let’s see if I can get back on track tonight. Plus, check out my bonus NBA Pick on the Suns and Blazers game late this evening.

Rockets vs. Raptors
Houston had to play the early game yesterday afternoon in Washington D.C, but after getting the win against the Wizards, now they head north of the border to play the Raptors this evening. The NBA Odds have the Raptors as -2 favorites, with a total of 207 ½, but Toronto has become almost notorious for not playing well against good teams this season, and that’s just one of the reasons I am taking the points with Houston.

Even with the Rockets off the back to back, at the very least they played yesterday afternoon, giving them another six to eight hours of rest coming off the back to back. Even with Dwight Howard out for the Rockets coming off the back to back, the Raptors still likely won’t have much of an answer for the Houston.

On top of that, the Raptors haven’t been a great bet recently. They have only covered in six of their last 19 games overall dating back to February, and against winning teams, the Raptors are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against teams with winning percentages of 60% or better. They are also 0-4 ATS in their last four games versus a team with just a winning SU record.

NBA Pick: Rockets +2

Jazz vs. Wolves
The Timber Puppies are probably counting down the days until the end of the season, as this year has been overshadowed by long-term injuries to important players. Tonight’s storyline might not be much different. With the Wolves going nowhere this season, and with no reason to win anymore, there is no reason to rush back guys like Ricky Rubio and Kevin Martin. Minnesota has been playing with short benches for a while now, and it looks like they may be there again tonight.

That puts the NBA odds in an interesting position. The Jazz are rested opposed to the Wolves who are coming off a game yesterday afternoon, and the NBA Odds only have Utah as a -4 ½ favorite on the road here. Even though the Jazz are a little banged up with Derrick Favors missing the last few games, they still have more than enough firepower to cover this spread tonight in Minnesota.

The Wolves are only 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, and they are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games against teams with losing road records. The Jazz haven’t been great either ATS going only 1-4 ATS in their last five, however the Wolves are weak right now, and Utah’s defense has still been one of the best units after the All Star Break. I don’t expect the Wolves to score more than 90 points tonight, and if that’s the case, the Jazz are a steal of a value NBA pick tonight at -4 ½. Lay the points with the road team.

NBA Pick: Jazz -4 ½  at 5Dimes
