It’s another night of NBA action here on Thursday, let’s see if se can get more than one winning NBA Pick tonight after a wild Wednesday.

Bulls vs. Sixers
Normally you would look at this game and think the Bulls could win easily by double figures, however for several reasons, the NBA Odds have the Bulls as only -8½ favorites on the road in this one. Chicago has been struggling mightily after winning six in a row to begin the New Year, and now they have dropped three straight games in embarrassing fashion. Now they have to go into Philly, a place they should easily get a win, but they might be without a couple of starters tonight.

Pau Gasol has already been ruled out with a couple different injuries, and while neither of them sound serious, he has been one of the more consistent Bulls this season outside of Jimmy Butler, and without Gasol tonight the Bulls might struggle to protect the rim a little bit. On top of that, Derrick Rose might be out tonight after he had to leave the game two nights ago with knee tendinitis. If he can’t play tonight, Aaron Brooks will have to step up big time, as will the rest of the Bulls frontcourt to make up for being without Gasol.

However, the Bulls injuries don’t affect my play on this one, because I am looking towards the total tonight at 204 points. The Bulls have still been pretty good on offense recently, as they have scored at least 100 points in a dozen straight games. Their defense has also started to revert back to December Bulls, and they have given up an average of 120 points per game in their last three games.

This has led to the over being a great bet, and even against Philly, the over should once again be a solid wager. The Bulls have cashed the over in five of their last six games, as well as six of their last seven road games. The Sixers have also been good cashing the over recently, going 4-1 in their last five games cashing the over, and cashing it in six of their last seven home games as well.

Kings vs. Jazz
Both of these teams are coming off bad losses last night, and both had to travel a bit to get to their game against one another tonight in Utah. The NBA Odds have the Jazz as -2½ favorites with a total of 200 points, but instead of another total wager tonight, I am leaning towards laying the points with the Jazz.

While both teams are coming off the back to back, Utah is 5-3 ATS this season when coming off the back to back, and while the Kings aren’t much worse at 5-4 ATS on no rest, the Kings also look disinterested in playing basketball right now. The Kings are in a tough spot. They are good enough to make a run at the playoffs in a Western Conference that is worse than everyone initially though before the season starts, but if they fall outside of the top eight picks in the draft lottery this summer, they lose their pick to the Chicago Bulls. Some nights the Kings look like they are a potential playoff team with the star power they get from DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo, and other nights they once again look like one of the worst teams in the league. I think they might end up looking like the latter tonight.

Utah is 11-7-1 ATS this season when playing at home, and even though they lost their first meeting against the Kings, that game was in Sacramento. On top of that, there is still a slight chance that Derrick Favors might return for tonight’s game after being listed as a game time decision last night and not playing. The Jazz may have been saving him because of the back-to-back here tonight, and if he plays, I like the Jazz laying points even more.

The line has moved up already this morning a full point, which means the sharps might agree with me, and with how bad the Kings are on defense, especially on the road, the Jazz are the play. Sacramento is giving up over 110 points per game on the road this season, which is the worst in the league. On top of all this, they have yet to win a game SU on the second night of a back to back this season, and in their last eight games overall, Sacramento is giving up nearly 116 points per game. Lay the points as the NBA pick.
