If you followed all three of my plays Thursday you were perfect. However, 2-1 isn’t bad for the rest of us, and I am back once again to try and continue that in Friday’s NBA Picks.

Rockets vs. Celtics
The Rockets have won and covered their last two games of their East Coast road trip, but now they head into TD Garden to play the Celtics. The NBA odds have Boston as a -6 favorite, with a large total of 223 ½ points. Boston dominated the Rockets in their first meeting this season from Houston, and now as only -6 favorites at home, the Celtics are seemingly undervalued against a team that really struggles on defense when playing on the road. However, Houston has covered in six of their last nine road games, but in those nine games they have given up an average of 112 points per game.

The Celtics are no slouch on defense, and while the Rockets have scored plenty in those nine road games, the Celtics are sneakily one of the better defensive teams in the NBA this season. Avery Bradley is not going to let James Harden get whatever he wants on offense, as the young Celtic is limiting players he defends to about 41 percent from the floor, and only 31 percent from the three point line.

Boston comes into this one at 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games, and on the year they are the third best team ATS at home at 19-13-1. Boston is also 13-8-1 ATS this season when playing against the Western Conference, while the Rockets are 8-15 ATS this season against the East, and 4-6 ATS in their ten road games against Eastern Conference teams. Boston has now covered their last five home games in a row against Western Conference teams, and I think they make it six tonight.

Wizards vs. Jazz
Another inter-conference showdown tonight will feature the Wizards heading into Utah to play the Jazz. Utah comes into this one as a -3 favorite, with a total of 198 points. Washington is coming into this one losers of three straight games ATS, and while the Jazz are only 1-8-1 ATS in their last ten games, as long as Rodney Hood is able to make it for this game, I like Utah ATS tonight.

Outside of John Wall, the Jazz have three of the top four players in this game, and if Hood plays, it probably is four of the top five. That is going to make it tough for the Wizards to matchup against Utah, considering they have so many weapons that can hurt you on any given night. Plus, while their defense has been slipping some, Utah is still one of the better defensive teams in the league this season, and while they did lose to the Wizards last month in Washington, the Jazz are a much better team when playing at home.

The Jazz are 16-16 ATS this season at home compared to 13-19 ATS when playing on the road. While the Wizards are coming into this game on two days rest and are 10-3 ATS this year when playing on 2-3 days rest, there is no guarantee that Bradley Beal will play tonight. We have him listed as probable, but he did not practice yet with the team even though he is in Utah tonight, so if he doesn’t play, that really hurts the Wizards chances. I am laying the -3 with the Jazz either way the shooting guard injuries shape up tonight.
