We split another pair of NBA Picks last night, and now it’s time to look forward to tonight’s short slate. Even with only two games, we can still find NBA odds value by parlaying them together.
Thunder vs. Bulls
The Thunder almost lost to the Sixers last night, but Russell Westbrook’s continued MVP push helped them hold off Isaiah Canaan and the Sixers. Westbrook put up his fourth straight triple-double last night, and if he isn’t right there with James Harden for the MVP chase, I don’t know what else the man has to do. Tonight he has another good matchup against the Bulls, who are down their top two guards in this matchup. The NBA Odds have the Bulls as +4 home dogs, but I am a bit more focused on the total of 200 ½.
For this matchup I’m dusting off our old Sports Insights system, which is to bet the under between winning teams if the total falls around 200. With OKC coming off the back to back, and the Bulls defense improving, the under could be one of the better plays tonight. Even though they have been going over a lot recently, the Thunder have actually be better at cashing the under against winning teams recently. OKC has cashed the under in four of their last five games against teams with winning percentages of 60% or better, and they have cashed it at 4-1 as well against SU winning teams.
The Bulls on the other hand have cashed the under in four of their last five games overall, and in seven of their last eight games against SU winning teams. Look to take the under and add it to the first leg of your parlay tonight.
Mavs vs. Blazers
The NBA Odds for this one werw a little late coming out this morning after the Blazers; overtime win last night against the Clippers. Now they have to welcome in the Mavericks tonight, and the NBA odds have the Blazers as -3 favorites, with a total of 200. I mentioned in the vide this morning before the lines came out that I thought the total would be much higher than this, and because of this, the over looks like it could be a great play between these teams.
The over is 7-3 for the Blazers in their last ten games against SU winning teams, and after last night’s overtime win, that trend continued. Plus, after their game last night they should be a little tired. Portland is only 6-6 cashing the over on no rest this season, but the Mavs should play fast enough to force the Blazers to push the pace as well.
The over is 7-2 in the Mavs’ last nine games playing on Fridays, and while they are on a seemingly incredible under cashing streak of eight straight games, I think that ends tonight. The last time these two teams got together about a month ago, the over cashed pretty easily with a final score of 111-101 in favor of the Mavs. I could see a similar score tonight, so take the over and add it to your NBA picks tonight.
