We crashed and burned last night, however, after hearing that Brandon Knight was not playing for the Suns, I personally ended up laying off their game with the Wizards, so I ended up down only one last night. Let’s bounce back in this volatile time of NBA Odds with two premium NBA Picks tonight.

Pacers vs. Sixers
A lot of times at this point in the season, a playoff bound team will relax against a banged up and tanking lottery opponent and not cover the spread. However, after losing three of their last four games in embarrassing fashion, and now sitting dangerously close to blowing their playoff chances, if the Pacers are anything but focused and ready to play tonight in Philly, they deserve to lose their playoff spot.

The NBA Odds have Indiana as a -10½ favorite tonight on the road against the Sixers, with a total of around 202½ to 203½ depending on which sportsbook you’re looking at. Even though the spread has shortened from -12 to -10½, I doubt the Pacers relax tonight. They have already beaten the Sixers easily in two games this season, and on top of that the Sixers are coming off a game last night, where the Pacers had the night off.

All of this should combine to give the Pacers an easy win if they come out ready to play on both ends of the court. The Sixers are still dealing with injuries to their top two big men, and neither of them should be ready to play tonight. On top of that, Philadelphia is only 7-10 ATS this season when playing on no rest, and in their last six games on no rest since the All Star Break, the Sixers are giving up 112 points per game.

The one game the Sixers didn’t give up at least 110 was to these same Pacers, where the final score ended at 91-75. If you take that game away, Philly has given up 116 points in five of their last six back-to-back games. In a must-win game for Indiana, I am buying the half point down to -10 and laying the points as my NBA pick for this game. Philly is 12-21-1 ATS this season as a home underdog this season, while the Pacers are 8-7 ATS as road favorites.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883598, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,93,92,238,169,19], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
Free NBA Pick: Pacers -10
Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

Heat vs. Blazers
The Miami Heat are also in danger of losing out on a home court game in the first game of the playoffs, and now they head into Portland tonight also coming off a game last night. They were able to beat the Kings without Dwyane Wade, but now they have to play Portland without him, a dangerous prospect. While the NBA Odds are far from settling, I’m trying to take advantage of the early odds in this one, with the Heat as a +5 underdog, and the total, which sits at 209 points.

Without Dwyane Wade on the court for the entire game, the Heat’s pace tends to speed up some. Even without him, their offense doesn’t suffer much, because they run enough to keep their efficiency close to normal, or even better in some instances. They lose some on the defensive end, however, and with that said, I am going with a play on the over tonight with the Heat coming off the back to back.

Miami is 8-6-1 cashing the over this season when playing on no rest, and they have cashed the over in five of their last eight games on no rest. Also, in the last four games Wade has missed this season since the All Star Break, the Heat have played at an average pace of 97.3, which is at least four points per 100 possessions faster than their average pace this season.

Miami has also been very good at cashing the over recently, and a lot of it has to do with their pace. Miami is 9-3 cashing the over in their last 12 games, and they have cashed the over in all four of the last four games that Wade was missed. The first time these two met this season, the final score was 116-109, and that was with Wade and Chris Bosh playing. Without them, look for the pace to quicken for both sides, as the Blazers play at the 13th fastest pace in the league at 98.2, and that increases to 10th when they play at home.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883602, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,93,92,238,169,19], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
Free NBA Pick: Heat Over 209
Best Line Offered: at Heritage
