With the NBA regular season winding down, I am heating up. I have cashed my last four NBA Picks, and I am going for six in a row tonight on a heavy NBA Monday with 12 games lined tonight.
Bulls vs. Nets
This game is actually one of the only ones this evening that mean something for both teams, and both the Bulls and Nets are fighting for playoff positioning in the East. The Bulls have a chance to move into the 3rd seed tonight with a win because of the idle Raptors, but it remains to be seen of whether they want to or not. If the playoffs started today the Bulls would be the 4th seed in the East and would avoid the Cavs in a potential second round matchup. This could mean that the Bulls might not want to go after this game as tough as they were a week ago.
The Nets on the other hand are also hanging onto a spot in the playoffs right now, as they are sitting tied for 8th with the Pacers. With Indiana idle tonight, the Nets could also solidify their playoff chances in this, their second to last game of the season.
Tonight the NBA odds have the Bulls as a -1 favorite, with a total of 200 points. While I am very tempted with laying the point or two with Chicago tonight, I think the better play could be the under. Both of these teams want to win this game tonight, and with Chicago’s defense improving, and Brooklyn’s season on the line, it could be a very low scoring game tonight. The under is 6-0 for the Nets in their last six games against teams with winning SU records, while the Bulls have cashed the under in their last five games in a row against teams with losing SU records. I see those trends continuing tonight.
NBA Pick: UNDER 200 at 5Dimes
Pelicans vs. Wolves
The Pelicans are just two wins away from a berth into the NBA playoffs, and even though they would likely get waxed in the first round against the Warriors, it is an incredible accomplishment if they can hold off the Thunder. Tonight they have the Wolves in what should be an easy win, and the sportsbooks are reflecting that. The NBA Odds have the Pelicans as a solid -12 favorite on the road tonight, however the better NBA pick could be the over. The total is sitting at just 199 points, and even with some of the Wolves’ offensive struggles, New Orleans is coming off the back to back, which could limit them on the defensive end.
The over is 5-2 in the Wolves last seven home games and it’s 8-3 in their last 11 games as underdogs. While the under is trending more for the Pelicans as of late, their back to back and playing a lesser team could make them focus more on their last game that this one. If Minnesota can get up to 90 to 95 points tonight, the over might be a great value.
NBA Pick: OVER 199
