Even though there aren’t too many NBA Odds to choose from on tonight’s short slate, there is still value on the boards. Click here to get a preview on our top plays.

Hawks vs. Raptors
This game could be a nice preview of a potential Eastern Conference playoff matchup, and with how both have been playing recently, it’s going to be a good one tonight. The NBA odds have the Raptors as -4 favorites at home tonight, with a total of 199 ½. The Raptors lost their home winning streak against the Rockets a few nights ago, but one thing they have done very well when playing at home this season is play defense. Toronto is allowing only 97.8 points per game when teams come into the Air Canada Center, and with the Hawks coming into town, you can bet this will be a defensive battle.

The Hawks have slowly crept up the Defensive Rating standings this season, and over the last six weeks or so they have been one of the league’s best defensive teams. The Hawks rank first in Defensive Rating and their opponent’s field goal percentage over the last 24 games, and coming into tonight that will continue in this potential playoff battle. In their last six games during regulation, the Hawks are allowing only 86.5 points per game, and with their long road trip ending here this evening, look for their defense to continue.

These two teams have played only once this year, but they have cashed the under in three straight meetings heading into this one. The under is 5-1-1 in the Hawks’ last six overall games, and with the Raptors playing at one of the slowest paces in the league, they will try and limit the Hawks out in the open court in this one, and make this game more of a dragged out, half court battle. If that is the case, take the under tonight in this one, and add it to your NBA Picks.

Cavaliers vs. Lakers
While the NBA never got a Kobe Bryant versus Lebron James NBA Finals, tonight there is a chance we will get to see those two superstars square off for the final time. However, The NBA odds boards have the Cavs as -9 ½ favorites in this one, with a total of 209 points, and the big question that remains is whether or not Bryant is healthy enough to take the court.

A report yesterday said that Bryant is 50-50 to play, but considering it’s a nationally televised game against Lebron, I would be surprised if Kobe sat this one out. That being said, if my hunch is correct, I think there could be some value in these late breaking NBA Odds. We have talked a lot this season about how much better the Lakers are on offense even when Brant plays limited minutes, so if he does play tonight expect the Lakers to show up against a Cavs team that is coming off the back to back.

While Cleveland has been good at cashing the under on the second night of a back to back this season, the league has apparently given them a pretty easy schedule when it comes to playing on no rest. The Cavs haven’t played a road-road, or home-road back to back since January, and so we have little to go on tonight with how they will play under Ty Lue against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. However, with the young Lakers core playing well, the over could be a nice play here tonight.

The Cavs have cashed the over in three straight games, and in those three they allowed nearly 107 points per game. If they are playing a little faster, the total in this one is simply too low. These two easily cashed the over against one another in their first meeting this year, and with the Lakers giving up 112 points per game in their last 11 games, the over is my play for tonight.
