We nailed two of our three NBA Picks on a big slate of Monday’s NBA Odds, but now with only four games on tonight’s slate, can we extract enough value for a few more winning NBA Picks?

Grizzlies vs. Sixers
The NBA Odds are favoring the Memphis Grizzlies by -10 here on the road in Philadelphia tonight, and while that may seem like a number that the Sixers could cash, I think I’m laying off the spread for a number of reasons. Not only could the Sixers lay an egg tonight, even at home, but the Grizzlies could come to play, or barely win the game. Memphis is not a team that typically blows out their opponents, and even against a run down Sixers team, Memphis doesn’t appeal to me this evening.

However, the total of 194 ½ points is very intriguing tonight. The first time these two teams met in Memphis way back in the very beginning of the season, the Grizzlies allowed Philadelphia only 84 points in route to the win. While the Sixers covered the spread in that one pretty easily, I see another game where neither team has a huge offensive exhibition. In what should be a slower paced game, I think the under is a key value play for tonight’s limited slate of games.

Against the Western Conference this season, the Sixers are averaging an abysmal 89.4 points per game, and while they are giving up 101 points to their non-conference opponents, that is three points less than their overall oppg, so at least we’re making progress. The Grizzlies haven’t been great at scoring the ball against the East either, and with the under cashing in 13 out of the Grizzlies’ last 18 road games dating back to last season, I see it being a nice value to tip off your NBA picks for Tuesday.

Lakers vs. Nuggets
While it may not be a game you’re looking to actively watch tonight, the Lakers and Nuggets could present us with some nice NBA odds value here on the short slate. We can’t afford to be picky tonight, and the NBA Odds have the Lakers as +5 underdogs in this one, with a total of 203½. The Nuggets are dealing with some major injury concerns for tonight’s game, and it is tempting me to take the points in hopes that some of these guys miss for the Nuggets. Danilo Gallinari had to leave Denver’s game early on Sunday with a sprained ankle, and his status looks up in the air at best, and another forward, Darrell Arthur, also hurt his ankle in that game too. If both of these guys miss, it’s going to be easier for the Lakers to score and stay in this one, and it might mean that the over has some sneaky betting value between these two teams.

Even though both of these clubs rank in the bottom of the league in Offensive Efficiency, against one another’s poor defenses tonight that may change. Plus, even though Denver is playing at a much slower pace under Mike Malone, the Lakers are still playing close to a top ten pace, so with the game sped up some, the over looks like the play.

These two teams met once this year already and the final score was 120-109, and while this game might not be that high scoring, it could definitely be enough to cash the over. The over is 4-2 for the Lakers in their last six games, and it’s cashed in four of their last six road games too. The over is also 4-1 for Denver in their last five games, and the over has cashed at 2-0-1 the last three times these two teams have played.
