We cashed one NBA pick yesterday, and were able to push in another one to we’re 25-13-1 so far in the NBA Playoffs. Let’s see if we can keep the trend going here tonight.

Hawks vs. Wizards
The Washington Wizards are probably the most interesting team in basketball. Their star player seemingly has multiple fractures in his hand and wrist, yet they don’t seem willing to accept that his season may be done. John Wall is still questionable to play in this game if the swelling and pain go down in his wrist, but if he can’t dribble, and is in danger of doing further, long-term damage, I don’t understand thinking about playing him here.

Obviously it’s a different situation, but when Derrick Rose tore his ACL in the playoffs against the Sixers a few years ago, there was no thought of playing him through the injury, even if he could. The Bulls realized they could not win without Rose, and while Wall can still run around, if he is in danger of closing a title window while it’s just starting to open up, the Wizards would be wise to sit him tonight.

However crazier things have happened, I guess, but with the NBA odds in favor of the Hawks at -3 ½ on the road, and my thoughts on if Wall should play, I am laying the points here. Without Wall, or with a seriously injured Wall, the Hawks are by far the better team. Without the advantage of Wall running the offense, the Hawks will collapse and double-team Bradley Beal and force the ball from his hands, and it will be up to the other guys to beat them. That hasn’t been happening yet in the series, and even in DC tonight, it won’t start now. The Hawks will in the front court battle again, and they will likely win this game.

My Pick: Hawks -3 ½ at Pinnacle

Warriors vs. Grizzlies
I know the Warriors are a really good team, and they might make it to the NBA Finals, but for weeks the sportsbooks have been treating them like the 1997 Chicago Bulls, and even though Steve Kerr is technically on the roster, they are far from a nearly invincible team. The Grizzlies proved that beating them on the road. They forced them to play a slower paced, and half court game, and it killed them. If they can continue to limit their fast breaks, and continue shutting down Klay Thompson, this game holds lots of value.

The Grizzlies are +4 ½ home dogs in the NBA Odds tonight against the Dubs, and once again the sportsbooks are trying to lead us all into the trap of believing the Warriors are better than they are. Conveniently, the Grizzlies are one of the most undervalued teams left in the NBA Playoffs, so I am firmly taking the points tonight in this one.

The Grizzlies are undefeated ATS in their last five home games, and they are 7-2-1 ATS in their last ten games. The Warriors on the other hand are only 2-5 ATS in these playoffs as favorites, and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games dating back to the regular season some. I am taking the Grizzlies here as my NBA pick. The Grind House is going to be rocking tonight.

My Pick: Grizzlies +4 ½ at The Greek
