After a night off from the NBA last night, and with a shorter slate of NBA odds on this evening, I have found two more NBA Picks that look like excellent values tonight.

Bucks vs. Pistons
The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the biggest disappointments to open the season so far, especially in the Eastern Conference. However, they get a chance to get a win tonight against the Pistons, who are -6½ favorites in the NBA Odds, with a total of 193½. While Milwaukee has been playing badly, they have actually started to look better recently. While it hasn’t turned into SU or ATS wins very often, the Bucks have been looking better on defense especially. Milwaukee is only 1-2 SU in their last three games, but their defense has allowed an average of only 85 points in those three games.

If the Bucks’ defense has decided to come to play this season finally, this could be a very good opportunity to take the points with Milwaukee. Buying low on teams starting to turn things around is one of the best ways to make money early in the NBA season. Teams like the Rockets and Bucks who have started slow, but are looking better, are great teams to attack in the NBA odds. Usually it takes a string of covers or SU wins to get the sportsbooks to notice fully, but for the Bucks’ sake, we can speculate that the turnaround is happening now, and buy in on the ground floor.

Milwaukee has covered all seven of the Bucks and Pistons previous seven matchups, including one already this season. While Milwaukee has yet to win a game SU on the road, I do think they can cover the +6½ here, even if they don’t win the game outright.

Rockets vs. Mavericks
One of the later games on this evening is the Rockets and Mavs from Dallas in yet another edition of the Battle of Texas. We get 24 regular season battles between Texas teams anyway, but the one tonight has the Mavs as -5 ½ NBA odds favorites, with a total of 209 ½. Speaking of disappointments turning things around, the Rockets have looked like a lottery team to start, and while the Mavs are starting to regress some from their hot start, the Rockets might finally be finding their stride, at least on the offensive end.

Houston has played better on offense over their last four games, and after firing their head coach, this team is finally beginning to look like the 3-pointers and layups Rockets we have become accustomed to see. Houston is averaging 111 points per game on offense over their last four games, and even though their defense is still awful, that will play right into our hands tonight, as we take the over for our second NBA pick.

Houston has cashed the over in four of their last six games, and they are still giving up nearly 108 points per game. With three of the last four meetings between these two going over, including one already this season, I am once again taking the over
