We broke out of our slump yesterday going 2-1-1 on a big slated Wednesday, however now with only four NBA games in the NBA Odds tonight, how should we find good value. Have no fear, because I already have, and I am adding them to my NBA Picks for Thursday!

Nuggets vs. Rockets
I think someone should probably tell the Nuggets that they don’t need to rest players right now because they are garbage. Plus a lot of their players already got rest during the season. Before Brian Shaw was fired Kenneth Faried was only getting 20 minutes per game, and Danilo Gallanari missed most of the season anyway trying to come back from a torn ACL. So here we are again, with the Nuggets on the first night of a back to back, and the NBA Odds have them as +8 underdogs tonight in Houston.

While I think the odds of the Nuggets randomly sitting guys out tonight is low, there is still a chance at this time in the year for anything. That is why I am looking at the Rockets here for value. They likely won’t rest anyone on a nationally televised game at home, but even if the Nuggets do, the Rockets are the play here at -8 in the NBA Odds.

These two teams have played three times this season already, and with the exception of one game, the Rockets won all three by double figures. On top of that, they covered all three anyways. Denver is only 2-4 ATS in their last six games against the Rockets, and while they are getting better ATS, cashing their last five games in a row against the number, they likely won’t have the firepower to keep up with Houston here. The Rockets are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall, and they are 14-4 ATS in their last 18 home games.

Jazz vs. Lakers
Utah is coming off a tough home loss to the Wizards last night in Salt Lake City, and now they have to travel into LA to play the Lakers tonight. The NBA Odds have the Lakers as +3 ½ to +4 home dogs in this one, with a lower total once again of only 182 ½ points. The Jazz’s defense was still great last night only giving up 88 points, however Washington’s was better limiting the Jazz to only 84. Gordon Hayward played great and I expect the same from him tonight, and it’s one of the reasons I like the Jazz laying points here, even coming off the back to back.

Utah is 4-1 ATS in their last five games as road favorites, and they are actually good off the back to back recently, going 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games played on no rest. While the Lakers have been pretty good ATS recently, going 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall, I do not trust them against a talented defensive team like Utah. They will really struggle to score tonight, especially with their leading shot taker (yes, even after he has been out so long, Kobe Bryant still leads the Lakers in FGA) out it should make it very difficult for the Lakers to score, so I'm looking at the Jazz as an NBA pick.
