With only 6 games on the NBA slate tonight, we have to be extra diligent in finding valuable NBA Odds, despite the short slate, I've found two plays that are great adds to our NBA Picks tonight.

Clippers vs. Nuggets
This offseason the Clippers looked like virtual locks to remain as one of the West’s best teams and potentially a Finals contender. However, while it’s still early, the Clippers have looked barely above average, and it starts with their atrocious defense. Los Angeles was an average team defensively with virtually the same roster last year, and now in this young season they are giving up nearly 105 points per game, and on the road it’s been even worse. However, tonight against the Nuggets, the Clippers have a chance to start to turn things around defensively, the problem is I don’t think they will.

Even though Denver isn’t a great team, they are playing better under Mike Malone, but their defense isn’t that great either. Denver is also giving up nearly 105 points per game this season, and with a spread favoring LA at -7, and a total of 207, the over looks like the safest play for this later evening start. The over has cashed in four of the last five for the Nuggets and in 15 of the Clippers’ last 21 games dating back to the playoffs last season. Plus, LA is giving up 111 points per game when playing away from Staples Center this season, and even against the Nuggets, it’s possible in the altitude that Denver drops anywhere from 105 to 110 points. Don’t wait for the total to go up even more. Take the over and add it to your Tuesday NBA Picks.

NBA Pick: Clippers & Nuggets OVER 207

Bulls vs. Blazers
Nearly two years ago to the day when he was trying to make his way back from the ACL tear that started the whole label, Derrick Rose was in Portland playing the Blazers and tore his meniscus (I mistakenly said ACL in the video). He had missed the entire prior season and it was the other knee, but either way if the ACL tear didn’t do it, that injury started the narrative of him being injury prone. While most people don’t tend to equate things like that with handicapping a game, with Rose likely to return tonight after a mild ankle sprain that cost him a couple of games, tonight may be a night you see Rose have one of his patented games.

Right now the NBA Odds have the Blazers as +3 home dogs with a total of 200 ½, and while I am intrigued by the total a lot, laying the points with Chicago is the best bet for tonight. Chicago was on a nice four game winning streak both SU and ATS before running into the buzz saw that is Golden State, and on the road this season the Bulls haven’t played badly, but they are 3-4 ATS in seven games.

The Blazers are on a mini-winning streak after losing seven in a row SU and ATS. Portland has looked ok at times, but tonight against an above average Bulls defense, you’ll see Portland’s true colors. The Blazers are giving up over 103 points per game at home this season, their Defensive Rating is in the lower third of the league, and I think the Bulls will speed them up as much as possible in order to get them to commit turnovers. Lay the points with Chicago.

NBA Pick: Bulls -3 (+100) at Bovada
