After a night off, we’re back here on a Friday night for 2 more out=standing NBA playoff games. There are some nice NBA Odds out at the sportsbooks, & I have found 2 of them to add to my NBA Picks.
Cavs vs. Bulls
This series just got a whole lot more interesting. The Bulls still won home court advantage in the first game, however the Cavs took back the momentum after a blowout in Game 2. Now they head into Chicago, a place the Bulls haven’t exactly played well at, but with a chance to take a 2-1 series lead, it might be a big spot here for the Bulls. The NBA betting odds have the Bulls as -1 ½ favorites here, with a total of 195 ½.
Even though I am tempted to lay the points with Chicago, I think there might be a better wager to be had with the total. The Bulls scored a ton of points in their two home games against Cleveland in the regular season, and if they can do that again, the over might be the play. The Bulls scored 108 points against the Cavs at home in their opening night loss, and then came back in February to score 113 on them. Cleveland’s defense got better in Game 2, but I’m not convinced that can hold for Games 3 and 4 in Chicago. JR Smith is coming back tonight, but that can only mean more offense for the Cavs and less defense. Iman Shumpert won’t be on the floor as much, unless of course the Cavs start small and put him at SF and Lebron James at the power forward.
That may be the direction they choose to go, which will only help the points scored. I’m not too worried about Derrick Rose on only one-day rest, as I think it might only be a small trend that will be broken soon. Look for the over here tonight.
My Pick: OVER 195 ½ at The Greek
Rockets vs. Clippers
The Rockets were able to come back from an embarrassing home loss in Game 1 to tie the series at 1-1 heading into LA for Game 3. The NBA Odds have the Clippers as -4 ½ favorites in this one, with a total of 215 ½. With the Clippers as favorites, one can only imagine that the sportsbooks think that the return if Chris Paul might happen tonight. However while that is still up in the air, the spread of -4 ½ is off limits for me tonight with Paul’s status still up in the air.
Instead, I’m going with the total once again of 215 ½. With the over cashing for us in Game 2, I see no reason why we shouldn’t go back to the well tonight for another chance to cash the over. The change in venue is not going to change the pace of this game. It will still be an up and down game with lots of shots in the first seven to ten seconds of the shot clock. If that’s the case, the total of 215 ½ is going to sky over once again.
The Clippers have now cashed the over in five of their last six-playoff games, while the Rockets have now cashed the over in four of their last five games as well. Take the over again tonight, and add it to your NBA picks!
