After barely missing out on another winning night thanks to the Bucks not covering the spread by one full point, I am back at it on this large slated Saturday of NBA odds.

Blazers vs. Wolves
The Blazers have been up and down this season, but by the time the season gets into the dog days, the Blazers might fall off. The Wolves have been following a similar path this season after opening up the year looking like a potential surprise playoff team. They now are falling back down to earth. Tonight these two teams face off against one another from Minnesota, and the NBA odds have the Wolves as -2 home favorites, with a total of 203 points.

Portland has been dealing with Damian Lillard’s illness over the last two games, but hopefully tonight he is back to, or close to 100 percent. If that’s the case, the Wolves will simply not have the firepower to keep up with Portland’s guards. While other teams have enough offense to limit Portland, Minnesota is not one of those teams.

The Wolves have gone only 1-8 ATS at home this season, and dating back to last year, the Wolves are 2-15 SU at home in their last 17 games from the Target Center. On top of their sour play, the defense at home has been the biggest problem for the Wolves. Minnesota is giving up 103 points per game at home this season, and if their defense doesn’t show up again tonight against Portland, I am taking the two points and hoping for another Blazer win over the Wolves this season.

NBA Pick: Blazers +2 at Bovada

Magic vs. Clippers
The finale for this 10-game Saturday is the Magic heading into the Staples Center to play the Clippers. The NBA Odds have LA as -2 ½ favorites this evening, and while that may seem low to the naked eye, the Clippers might be without both Chris Paul and JJ Redick tonight. Paul has already been ruled out and Redick is listed as doubtful to play, so with the injury uncertainty for the Clippers, the better play might be the total. I am tempted to take points with the Magic after their recent play, but for me the total of 198 is a much better value.

In their recent five-game winning streak, the Magic have held their opponents to 94 or fewer points, and they have averaged scoring nearly 105 points per game. While their defense under Scott Skiles may be coming around, their play on offense has been more impressive. The move to bring Victor Oladipo off the bench has seemingly paid off, and if the Magic can get their offense going again on the road tonight against a Clippers team that has seen better days on defense, I look for the total to go over.

LA’s defense is improving, but they are still giving up 99 points per game at home this season, and the over is 5-2 in the Magic’s last seven road games this season. Plus, in their games against the West, the Magic are averaging 105 points per game on offense as well. I see a game where both teams get past the 100-point mark, so for the final game of the evening, take the over and add it to your NBA picks.

NBA Pick: OVER 196 at Pinnacle
