We head into Tuesday’s slate of NBA Odds, where the sportsbooks have six games on the slate, and I have found two of them worthy of being called my NBA best bets.

Hornets vs. Sixers
I’ve been pretty vocal about how good the Hornets are on defense, and this is still true today. However, right now the NBA Odds have the Hornets as big -11½ favorites in Philadelphia tonight, with a total that spans anywhere from 207½ to 209 points. While the Hornets might be able to hold down the Sixers with ease tonight, especially with how many injures the Sixers are dealing with, I see things differently.

While the sharps seem to be betting down this total in the hopes that the Hornets limit the Sixers to less than 90 points, I see it in different way. At only 208 points, this line might be a steal of a value for how well the Hornets play on offense, how badly the Sixers are on defense, and to top it all off, how fast the Sixers have been playing as of late.

Starting with the Hornets’ offense, Charlotte is averaging better than 110 points per game on this current road trip. They are 19-16 cashing the over on the road this season, and if you stretch it out further, they are averaging 112 points per game in their last five road games.

The Sixers on the other hand have allowed an average of 112 points per game in their last 10 overall games, and as you probably know, it’s the season for tanking, so don’t expect the Sixers to bring much defense to their game against Charlotte, who is fighting for a home court game to start the first round of the playoffs.

Lastly, that brings me to the most important factors, the Sixers’ pace. Without Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor over the last several games, the Sixers’ have had no choice but to speed up the pace, and that’s exactly what they are going to do tonight against Charlotte. In their last three games, the Sixers’ average pace of 100.5, which would easily be the fastest in the league stretched out for the entire year. With no big men to slow down the offense with, the Sixers are going to play fast and give up points at home tonight.

Rockets vs. Cavaliers
Of course the big news for this game is that Lebron James is expected to sit out because of rest, and the NBA Odds have taken this into account. Right now the sportsbooks have the Cavs as only -2 favorites, with some shops even posting the line at -1½. The total however, is where I am much more interested in tonight. At 212, and without James this evening, that does a couple of things to the Cavs.

Cleveland has been without James for three games this season, and in all three games they failed to reach 100 points. The total went under in two of those three games, and Cleveland averaged only 94 points in those three games.

What’s even more telling is when you take a look at the Cavs’ with or without analytics from NBA Wowy. With James on the floor this season, the Cavs have a pace of 92.4, and they are averaging more than 1.1 points per possessions. If you take James off the floor, the Cavs are averaging just over 1.0 points per possession, which translated into about 10 fewer points per game. If their games without James are evidence enough this season, even with a talented supporting cast, and even at home against a poor defensive team, the Cavs might not make it to 100 points tonight.

That being said, the under at 212 points looks like a steal right now. In their first meeting against one another, the Cavs and Rockets were in one of the lowest scoring games of the entire season. That one finished 91-77 in favor of the Cavs, and while I doubt this one is a low scoring, it could easily be low enough to cash the under. The Rockets come into this one cashing the under in three straight road games, averaging just over 101 points in those three games I could easily see a final score of this one somewhere around 103-100, making the under a great value as an NBA Pick on Tuesday night.
