We've got a great slate of games to run through here on Friday night, as we try to narrow down our top NBA picks of the day.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Clippers let a win get away yesterday, as they were leading the defending champion Golden State Warriors by a huge margin. They couldn't stop Stephen Curry though, and he guided the Warriors back to the win, a win that kept their perfect record intact.

While it was disappointing to lose like that, particularly since the game was at home, LA can at least be happy with how they played in the grand scheme of things, and the Clippers will be especially pleased that Chris Paul was able to play. He had been dealing with a nagging injury, and it's still not a sure thing that he'll be playing in tonight's game, as it's the tail end of a back to back.

That hasn't stopped oddsmakers from listing LA as a 2.5-point favorite on the NBA odds board, however. The Clippers are road favorites in Portland tonight, and we've got a high total of 210.5 points out there for the taking right now. That would suggest we'll be in for a high-scoring game, and it's hard to picture anything different unfolding, as both teams like to get up and down the floor and have good scorers.

The Trail Blazers have not had a great season, as they're 4-9 and struggling to adjust after the exodus that saw four starters leave. Damian Lillard is getting a ton of usage, that's for sure, and C.J. McCollum has stepped into the number two role nicely, with Al-Farouq Aminu playing well too. However, the overall results haven't been there, and a weak interior presence certainly doesn't help matters.

That's one of the major reasons why we think LA is worth a look here, as Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan should have their way inside. We'll need to keep tracking the status of CP3, but the Clippers should be able to bounce back from last night's loss with a W tonight.

Toronto Raptors vs. Los Angeles Lakers
At 2-9 this season, the Lakers continue to struggle, and they're essentially a lock to be among the teams with the worst records when everything is said and done.

Tonight, the NBA odds would lead you to believe LA will be in for another long night, this time at home against Toronto. The Raptors may be underperforming, having lost three in a row, but they're still atop the Atlantic division with a 7-6 record and have enough talent to emerge as one of the true contenders in the Eastern Conference. They're going to be just fine in spite of their recent struggles.

With the combo of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, it's going to be mighty hard for LA to keep up this evening. Both guards have been playing at an extremely high level, and Lowry has been especially consistent. He's playing his best basketball of his career and figures to have another impactful performance against a dreadful Lakers defense.

Indeed, we're not going to touch LA and instead will back Toronto to win and cover the number on the road. We know the Raptors are the more talented team, and they're also going to be desperate for a win because of this growing losing streak, and that combo should prove too much for the home team on this occasion.

With your NBA picks, consider rolling with the Raptors to come out and make a statement with a fairly comfortable win over the Lakers. Some may be scared off by the big number, but we should embrace it in this instance.
