We hit on our loan NBA Pick yesterday to leave last week on a high note, it’s time for hoops to take center stage. With that in mind, I have two more of my NBA Best plays to release.

Raptors vs. Pistons
Tonight the NBA odds have the Raptors as -2 road favorites at the Palace of Auburn Hills, and the total is sitting at 205 points in their game against the Pistons tonight. While both teams have been playing better recently, I am laying off the spread for precisely that reason. The Raptors on the road have been much harder to predict, but what has been easier to predict has been the Pistons, and how well they score the ball at home.

This season, Detroit is averaging over 105 points per game when playing at the Palace, and if they can get into an offensive rhythm tonight against the visiting Raptors, the total is surely a good play at 206.

The total has already crept upward from 204½ from where it opened, and with DeMarre Carroll still out and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope nursing an injury that will keep him out until after the All Star Break, the two best defenders on these teams are out tonight, which could mean some more scoring is on the way.

The over has now cashed in the last six straight meetings between these two teams dating back to the 2013-2014 season, and while they have only played once this season, the scored ended 107-111, which would be plenty enough to cash the over in this one.

The over is now 8-4 in the Raptors last 12 games, and Toronto has cashed the over in four of their last five road games. The Pistons on the other hand are 14-9-1 this season cashing the over at home, and it has also cashed in five of their last six games overall.

With the season getting close to the halfway point, these teams are starting to feel the burn of a long season, and defense has been the first thing to go. Detroit is giving up over 105 points per game in their last ten games overall, and I see them giving up more than that tonight to the Raptors. Take Over as the NBA pick tonight.

Nuggets vs. Nets
The Nuggets are coming off a win at Madison Square Garden yesterday afternoon before the Super Bowl, and while they did have to travel, the trip from Manhattan to Brooklyn probably isn’t that bad. On top of that, the Nuggets have been very good this year off the back to back at 7-4 ATS, and while they come in as -2 favorites on the road in this one, it’s the total of 204 ½ that I am once again more interested in.

While Denver has been good off the back to back, the over is where I am going with this one. For starters, Denver is 8-3 this season cashing the over on the second half of a back to back, and in their last seven games on no rest, Denver is giving up an average of 108 points per game.

While the Nets have been anything but a solid offense team since Jarrett Jack when down for the season, Brooklyn has been playing better recently. Brooklyn is averaging close to 106 points per game in their last five games, and the over has cashed in four of those games.

Tonight, against a tired Nuggets team, the Nets should be able to get past 100, or at least close enough so the over is the play. Brooklyn has cashed the over in five straight home games, and they have given up 106 points per game in 20 non-conference games this season.
