Saturday’s slate brings a much better schedule of NBA Odds to the table. Let’s bounce back from Friday night with two hopefully winning NBA Picks.

Wolves vs. Pelicans
One of the earlier games on this evening features the Pelicans and Wolves hooking up from New Orleans, and the Pelicans come into this one as a -5 favorite, with a total of 218 points. While the Pelicans have been one of the more disappointing teams this season, they avoided an injury scare to Anthony Davis two nights ago, and it looks as if he will be able to play tonight against Minnesota.

New Orleans will also get a nice boost tonight with Eric Gordon making his return as well. While New Orleans has been lacking offense at times, Gordon’s shooting will give them a huge boost because while he is nowhere near the level of talent he used to be, Gordon’s main NBA skill of shooting the ball will serve the Pels well tonight. Gordon likely won’t play a full compliment of minutes, but the very fact that he will be on the court will help the Pelicans offense. Andrew Wiggins will be forced to respect Gordon’s shooting ability, and while it probably won’t hurt Wiggins’ game tonight, it might be enough to lead the Pelicans to victory tonight.

As long as Davis plays tonight the Pelicans look like a great play. Minnesota’s defense has been lackluster at best this season, and the Pelicans have already won and covered both their games against the Wolves this season. They have also covered five of their last six games against the Wolves, and New Orleans is 6-3 ATS in their last nine games over the last three seasons against the Wolves. With the Wolves giving up nearly 105 points per game this season on the road, look for the Pelicans to be a solid play tonight as long as Davis is ok.

Spurs vs. Rockets
The battle or Texas heats back up tonight as the Spurs head into Houston to play the Rockets. The NBA Odds have the Rockets as +5½ underdogs tonight with a total of 212 ½. Houston is coming off a nice win against the Blazers, but with the very evident rift going on in Houston right now, it’s clear that this team is not on the same page, and they probably aren’t going to be for the rest of the season. Houston has now lost four of their last six games SU, and going up against the Spurs tonight likely won’t help that.

The Spurs on the other hand have now won four straight games coming off their loss to the Clippers, and after losing their first game to the Rockets this season on Christmas, San Antonio has dominated their last two games against the Rockets, winning easily SU and ATS. While being in Houston has not been kind to the Spurs in the past, San Antonio is in that current point of the season where they always turn it on. The months of March and February are always the times that Gregg Popovich has his team turn it on, and I see them taking care of Houston once again tonight.

Even though the Rockets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against the Spurs in Houston, the Spurs will do their best to slow down Houston’s offense as much as possible tonight, and if they don’t turn the ball over, they should get the win and cover. While the line is somewhat suspect, and while the Spurs have not won in Houston since last season, look for them to be a solid NBA pick tonight.
